GM Batpony's Season of Ghost

Recruitment

Liberty's Edge

I'm currently preparing to run Season of Ghost for my players IRL. But why not double the fun since I've done the prep work?

So recruitment is open to those who are interested, looking for 4-5 players
Guidelines but open to discussion:

- Normal Post rate: Once every 12 hours approximately (including weekends)
- Remastered rules, generally most uncommon selections are OK, rare selections to be discussed
- PFS chronicle sheets assigned for those who want it
- Combat by initiative blocks
- Milestone leveling
- Google Slides will be used as the main form of visualization
- You may manage your character sheets how you see fit, but please make them accessible on your character profile
- If you're interested, please share your experience with PBP, and if any adventure paths, and if you have an idea of what you'd like to play.

I have some interest. I could probably post twice a day on work days. My concern would be weekends and holidays. I am usually very busy with my family and could only post once a day (With the occasional missed day). Would that be a problem?

Dark Archive

I'm interested in this.

I've played in several pbp adventures in the past. Most of them have been Pfs scenarios or modules. I'm comfortable post a couple of times a day.

I'll take a look at the player's guide, but I'll probably play some sort of arcane caster.

I have 8 years of PbP experience on these forums. I have run 2 APs, I have played 2 APs, and I participated in two several-years-long GM round robin PFS "campaigns."

Question on the Q12 hour posting: is that a minimum 12 hours between posts or 1 post per 12-hour window (e.g., 8A-8P, 8P-8A). I'm sure I can get in 2 posts per 24 hours, but Q12 might be a bit too regimented. I do have the occasional travel or all-day responsibility. My biggest concern for myself is that "stuff" happens in life, and while that shouldn't be all the time or, hopefully, manifest in the first week of a campaign, is there a tolerance for that when it inevitably happens?

Background wrote:

At the age of eight years--weak, hungry and cold--Yue Baihe wandered into Willowshore. His family had been traveling from Karahai with plans to stop at Willowshore to rest and restock before continuing southward. Yue Baihe did not understand why they were traveling less than he understood the monsters that attacked his family near Gourd Lake. In his mind, they were angry spirits. The townsfolk found neither spirits, bandits, nor oni when they went to search for his family. All they found were the empty, bloodstained cart.

The foundling was raised by the people of Willowshore, picking up various skills here and there. As he grew, he developed an affinity for the Graveside Manners and a preoccupation with spirits and the afterlife. He spent so much time with You So-Ji that he began to follow her example of caring for the monuments of those past and her interest in medicinal plants.

Yue Baihe would be a human Ranger (vindicator of Tsukiyo).

I've heard really good things about the AP and would be interested in playing in it. I've both played in and ran several PF2e games on these boards and in tabletop games.

Over 17,500 posts on these boards including alias posts.

Been playing RPG's in one form or another since 1977. Not interested in PFS credit, but anxious to play in the campaign.

I've heard this is among the best APs ever released, I'd definitely be interested. I will say this would be my first time doing PBP on the forums properly, but I've done text based stuff on discord for years. I've only really played through abomination vaults as far as official stuff goes, but I've been in a ton of homebrew campaigns as well as being part of leadership for 2 pf2 west march style things. I've got a massive character backlog at this point, so I'm comfortable being more flexible with my role in the party. Top candidates would be between barb, exemplar, rogue, and sorc atm.

As an aside, I see a lot of mention of Google slides being used for visualization around here. I'm definitely cool with that, but as one guy who's had to have battlemaps for text based play to another, I recommend trying out mipui.net if you haven't already, it's a really easy to learn way to do em.

I would be interested in this AP. Been playing Pf2e since 2022 and have been pbp-ing on a near daily basis on these forums since 2024. You can have a look at my aliases to find that I've been part of 4 long running campaigns as well as various PFS2e scenarios.

To name them:
- Completed Rusthenge
- Playing and nearly completed Stolen Fate
- Completed Spore Wars (off site)
- Playing Curtain Call, completed Book 1
- Playing Shades of Blood

I'm even playing with you in a PFS scenario, 1-02: The Mosquito Witch, as of the time of writing. You know that I'll take any opportunity for PFS credit.

If selected, I would bring Lao Li Mao, also known as Lady Lao. This self-professed noble moved into Willowshore many years ago, citing the need to lie low after a diplomatic faux pas elsewhere. Since then, she's been slowly gathering influence in the North side of Willowshore, trying to build up a bloc of influence against Old Matsuki (whom she dislikes for being too inflexible) while allying herself nominally with Kim Gu-Won (whose job as Exchange Manager keeps the tea flowing into the village, without which she would be very unhappy). Above all things, she tries to keep her status as a Tanuki secret. It wouldn't do to reveal her second face if she doesn't need to.

Mechanically, she would be a Thaumaturge with the Northridge Scholar dedication (giving her Tea Lore as an additional Lore) with the Tome Implement (which in addition to giving her 2 free trained skills of her choice everyday and +1 to Recall Knowledge, also contains all the gossip she's ever overheard). Armed with a Longsword, she's ready to figure out what exactly is causing the Season of Ghosts.

If you allow rare options from the Tian Xia books, I might have a different character idea to share - but we'll cross that bridge if I'm selected for it.

I've got ideas for a slyph Witch (If allowed), and a misplaced human monk.
