I had always wanted a Day 0 after the Gap AP, so I was excited to read Era of the Esclipse.
The other big past event that might be worth a novel is the Signal. One of my favorite SF2e season 1 scenarios deals with how a civilization dealt with the signal.
Other than the Signal, I think it's more likely that a Starfinder novel would be more about current or new events.
So what do you think the next Starfinder novel should be about?

Something centered around the Azlanti coup I think would be helpful. They had the playtest adventure, but there are so many more layers to something that big it is definitely worth fleshing out and could easily set-up or at least ground an future adventure. I could also see a fun novel revolving around the aftermath of the Drift Lanes.

an SFS ship receives a signal from a pre-drift capable world calling out to the stars (basically a version of METI) they pop in, and are welcomed. They are shocked when one of the crew, a human, steps out, as the major religion of this world worships human looking deities. They are not worshiped as even the religious scholars understand the difference between aliens who look like what we worship, and our actual gods. And then they show their most sacred relic... an ASE beacon.
This world was once a slave world to the ASE, but have been abandoned and forgotten as the resource the ASE was extracting has run out. But, now they have to deal with the reality of how their world was exploited and used, and how they have been worshiping their colonizers.

That's a really good point, How are the Pahtra handling their new hard won independence, especially with the knowledge that the Vesk are likely only giving up on them until the threat of the Swarm or the ASE is passed.
How are Pahtra in Veskarium service being treated?
Is this inspiring more passive-aggressive resistence in the skittermander?
How is the Pulonis recovering from it's occupation. what has been irrecoverably lost to Vesk occupation?

The next Starfinder novel, Assault on Absalom Station, has been announced! It's apparently going to be a direct sequel to Era of the Eclipse, with it looking like Tyrcell will join Dae and Chk Chk as a third protagonist. Given the art, I expect the Corpse Fleet will be involved (unless we're doing more flashbacks to something historical like the Magefire Assault).

I imagine that's a complex question. This is head canon from a SFS character I build. A Pahtra soldier who was drafted and served the Vesk military off world. I designed him as a veteran of the conflict with the Azlanti in the playtest scenario.
Now he can't go home to Pulonis because they view him as a collaborator.
He can't go back to the Vesk because they discharged all the Pahtra and washed their hands of them.
So he's got that no-home, vagabond life that leads to Absalom Station and the Starfinder Society.

Thank you for sharing this, I absolutely love this idea and how it taps into the complicated conflict that I really enjoy about the Veskarium.
I've had a lot of character concepts that I've fallen in love with just built around the fate of Pulonis!
Rhythm Mystics that teach traditional Pahtra dances on GalacTikTok after the Veskarium can no longer ban them.
An Operative rebellion member that is lost without something to fight against.
Xenodruid Elemental Mystics that can diagnose the scars of pollution that the Vesk caused by strip mining for resources.
A Doshko-Swinging Soldier that doesn't even see Pulonis as a home anymore.
An Animal Astrazoan who was raised as a Pahtra, and can only turn into animals that went extinct from Vesk pollution.
There's so many fun ways to take it.
