Master of Disguise... Any suggestions...?

Advice

So, This is an old idea I'v had floating about my head for a long time and it came up again today after session, I do not have any game for this idea yet but I want to try it some time. I always had a ton of fun with Disguise Self...

I want to make a Master of Disguise type with Mundane and possibly magic disguises (Skill, Potentially with Disguise Self spell) and was wondering, Does anyone have any tips for how to make this work, And still have a fully useable character?

I'm considering a Vigilante, Investigator or Bard for the class, And for race I'm thinking Kitsune (With Realistic Likeness) Or something more mundane like Human or Halfling...

Any tips and suggestions are welcome!

I've always been amazed at how useful Sleeves of Many Garments are for only 100 gp.

You would want a character with lots of skill points and a Charisma bonus to buff the Disguise skill. I did a quick Archetype search using "Disguise" as the search term, and it looks like there's lots of interesting options. The first one, Master of Disguise for a rogue, is worth checking out.

Some quick options I like:
Druid Skinshaper, vigilante, Imperial agent particularly adds some extra hijinks to the class, and infiltrator investigator is also good.

I would go with a Brazen Deceiver Bard for this concept. Bard is a CHA based class with lots of skills and access to illusions. They get a bonus of ½ their class level (minimum +1) to Bluff, Disguise and Stealth. Not only do they get magic they can often use it without people realizing they are using it. They get the equivalent of lore master with Bluff.

Yes, Brazen deceiver is a good one. Inquisitor has Cloaked wolf, Infiltrator, and Urban infiltrator. Clandestine inquisition or trickery domain/subdomain is good. An Intrigue oracle could probably work well, too.

Best class depends on what other goals and roles you want. Bards are usually good jacks-of-all-trades, vigilantes and investigators get sneak attack-like abilities, other casters have wide ranges of abilities...

@Andostre
The Sleeves of Many Garments are very good for this idea, A very fun item. :)

@Mysterious Stranger & I grok do u
Brazen Deciever I had not heard of before, It looks interesting. And I hadn't even thought of the Inquisitor... I wonder what deity might fit the idea...

In addition to sleeves of many garments, a cap of human guise is a useful item (and more affordable than a hat of disguise).

Incidentally, the Brazen Deceiver has quite a lot of synergy with the Pageant of the Peacock bardic masterpiece.

In addition, if you want you could be a Cleric and sacrifice a domain for the Clandestine inquisition. You could even use the Veiled Illusionist prestige class. I should like to caution you, however, that being able to roll twice on Disguise is likely not as valuable as having a much higher skill bonus to begin with.

For a more unusual class, I could also recommend the Medium. The Medium does not receive any special bonuses to disguise (it does have the Disguise Self spell and derivatives, however) unless you channel the Marshal or Trickster spirits but it does use Charisma as its spellcasting attribute and it has a way of shifting around its class features and playstyle depending on what role it wants to embrace for the day.

Even with the Clandestine Inquisition the cleric is not going to work well as a master of disguise. All it would do is to give the character the ability to roll twice for disguise a limited number of times per day. The problem is Disguise is not a class skill for a cleric and clerics do not have a lot of skill, nor do they have and spells that boost disguise. They could take the trickery domain, which would give disguise as a class skill and Disguise Self as a domain spell. The problem with that is they still do not have a lot of skill points and can only use their domain slots for Disguise Person.

The reason the inquisitor works is he gets the needed skills as class skills, and has plenty of skill points. Bluff is going to be nearly as important as disguise for this character. Inquisitors spell list includes disguise self and a lot of other spells that will support this concept.

Deities suggested by Clandestine inquisition are Achaekek, Desna, Iomedae, Milani, Nethys, Norgorber, Sarenrae, Shelyn, Sivanah. The flavor text says it could apply to any believer in a place that might not accept them: a Pharasmin heading to Geb, Outer God/Old One or demon lord followers, or pretty much any while heading to Razmiristan.

Go kitsune vigilante.with the realistic likeness feat and the seamless shapechanger social talent.
I would also suggest taking either 2 levels of bard or cavalier with order of the songbird for versetile performance (act). Your disguise and bluff checks will be insane.
