Vigilante Brute Archetype; Is the save a Mind-affecting Effect?

Rules Questions

As it says on the tin. I've been trying to look up the ruling for whether or not the save to avoid attacking your allies is a mind-affecting effect.
With archetypes like the Wild Rager, it specifies that it acts like the Confusion spell, which specifies Mind-affecting, but for Brute Vigilante, it doesn't specify it, so I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

On a separate note, if it is considered a Mind-affecting Effect, would the Steely Resolve vigilante talent allow me to try extra saves, or would it just buy me time to get away from my allies?

It will determine which trait I take too, as one is a +1 to Will saves, but little else that I want, while another is +1 to saves against Mind-affecting Effects and is a campaign trait, one of which I would need to take, but the bonus to Will saves and Mind-affecting doesn't stack, so I don't want to take both.

It doesn't say so, so RAW it isn't. Logically, it should be, though.
But really? Ask your GM. You need to talk to them about the archetype anyway, plus all the other players, because his is the single most potentially campaign breaking archetype in the entire game.

Thank you for the answer, and also the recommendation.

I will talk with the whole group as a whole before deciding to run the character.

Vigilante class [not PFS]Brute arch
not PFS legal is essentially a warning sign that it could be broken, not well defined, or has a PR issue.
It seems it is not well defined so RAW Rules help can only go so far. I didn't really see in depth discussions about it just perusing old threads. I'll hazard a guess that the collateral damage fallout got it banned.

The vigilante Dual Identity is complicated and the Brute's sounds like a polymorph effect but it is not defined as such. I'd review the vigilante dual identity text (four paragraphs).

The Will save mechanic is bad. Base Will is Brute/3 plus usual bonuses vs every round Will DC=20+Brute/2. Then there's the flat-footed full round of transition in and out. It doesn't read/say Mind-affecting so it's a flat save. The Brute Vigilante is not able to use Dex, Int, or Cha based skills... that's not good

With the collateral damage fallout being worse than an Alchemist, I'd talk to your group and GM as you will need some agreements on how it will work in play.
