Hello, is it possible with a weapon with the parry trait to use the defend exploration ?

Thanks for your future answer.

RAW, no.

However, if a player in my game wanted to do the equivalent of Defend with a parry weapon, I would not be opposed to it.

While Defend clearly specifies the usage of a shield. There is an important thing to consider regarding Exploration Activities.

The list of exploration activities isn't exhaustive. More appear in special subsystems and adventures, and you'll often need to create your own. When making your own, it's usually fine to just consider whether the amount of effort the PC has to put in is comparable to the other exploration activities and go from there. If you're having trouble, try finding a comparable activity.

So yes. It is possible and is infact the intention to be able to use Parry with exploration despite them not having printed the Defend activity with Parry in mind.

There was a recent post that had an entire list of other defensive options that most GMs would also allow to be used in exploration mode similar to Raise Shield and Defend.
