Brawler Build Advice

Advice

looking at doing a Half orc Brawler who uses Stuff like shield slam and spike destroyer as His Main combat tactic. I want him two be able to shield bash and and bullrush allowing for stuff like spike Destroyer to come in to play.

Id be looking at a level 7 build but I'm not sure of my feat my progression.

you want to be a battle dancer. with the ability to move 5 ft before each strike you can position yourself so that you bull rush enemies into objects even while full attacking. this triggers the forced prone effect of Shield Slam in addition to Crushing Impact
battle dancer
crushing impact

so if you Shield Slam an enemy into a wall, they first take damage from your shield (1d6+STR+PA) then automatic dmg equal to your unarmed strike (1d8+STR+PA) thanks to Crushing Impact, followed by a swift action from Spiked Destroyer (1d6+STR+PA). finally they are knocked prone due to Shield Slam

as a lv 7 brawler you would have enough feats to take Shield Slam, Crushing Impact, and Spiked Destroyer. or you could flex into Crushing Impact when you fight in cramped areas. but id dip a level into something with better armor proficiency since youre otherwise stuck with light armor

Battle Dancer loses shield proficiency. That isn't a huge loss, but an odd choice for a shield based character. You could use feats or dips to get it back. I personally don't like dips because it slows down your progression for other class abilities

i missed that. i was too occupied with the movement advantage

dipping willy nilly isnt good of course but the brawler has really bad proficiency and battle dancer also loses the AC bonus. so dipping for better armor was already a good idea

accounting for shield proficiency a dip into fighter would be worth 4 feats for the battle dancer. so id definitely start with that

You might want to look at the living avalanche archetype to pair bull rush with overrun.

I have a build suggestion. I'm not an expert with Brawler but here goes:

Race: Half-Orc
Key Traits: Sacred Tattoo (+1 luck to saves), Toothy (optional, for bite attack)
Class: Brawler (Shield Champion)
Favored Class Bonus: +1/4 to AC when fighting defensively (optional)

Ability Scores (20-point buy, before racial bonuses)
STR: 16 (+2 racial) = 18; DEX: 14; CON: 14; INT: 10 WIS: 12; CHA: 8

Feats, pretty much in this order: power atk, improved shield bash, improved bull rush, shield slam, spiked destroyer, WF shield, Greater bull rush, then furious focus if you have any probs hitting but you probably won't.

So you'd open with shield bash, trying to trigger shield slam, then bull rush, pushing the enemy and triggering spiked destroyer. If you need to be defensive just fight defensively.

You can use situational feats like shield master, improved trip or even enforcer if you want to demoralize as non-lethal as needed. As you advance in level just take shield master anyway.

For gear, a heavy shield with the bashing enhancement and armor spikes.

Equipment recommendation would be a heavy shield with Bashing. You will have a lower AC, but you can take Shield Master at higher levels if you like.
