Hey I'm in need of a plant monster and the Sargassum Heap is the right level that I'm looking for, but Sargassum is apparently a marine plant and my game is taking place in forests and swamps. Anyone who knows more about plant-life than I do have any suggestions?
Yes I know the Shambler technically would work but I'd rather not do OGL monsters.

Theres a few ways you can do this that I would reccomend
Either you can adjust the Sargassum heap by making a variant, Changing its speed and wavesense to better suit a terrestial version. You could also use other plant creatures and adjust their stats and abilities to raise or lower their level according to GMCore guidance when it comes to building creatures.
Otherwise its perfectly fine to keep the heap mostly as is and just plonk it down into a swamp with minor adjustments to set it apart from its marine counterpart. Like giving it poison/acid resistance instead of cold resistance. Maybe even have it expose the PCs to Bog Rot

If you want your Sargassum Heap to operate in a swamp, you wouldn't need to make any changes in my opinion, as wavesense would work in a swamp, and you could even lean into this by emphasizing how deadly the swamps are in the area. If you want a terrestrial version for forests, you could replace the wavesense with precise tremorsense out to the same range of 60 feet and you should be good!
