How is the bone spear spell supposed to work? The Target line says "One creature", but is that supposed to be one Thrall, or is the Target of the spell also the Target of a thrall's attack? Should the Target line read "One of your Thralls" perhaps?
If we assume the former, that it's supposed to be a Thrall that's within the 10-foot range, then that means it's possible for the Necromancer to catch themselves in the path of the resulting line.

I'm about 95% certain it is suppose to say 1 Thrall you have not 1 creature but what confused me is why it is considered 2 attacks, I don't think we've seen a spell do this but maybe targeting AC is that good?
Most things that attack multiple creatures with attack rolls with no map count as 2 attacks. (Sweep attacks, etc.)

The spell feels a bit awkward since if you have no thralls out you need to summon a thrall (which will attack) to use it (So now your focus spell is at MAP). And delaying it is awkward at low levels because you only have 1 spell slot (Leading with a cantrip in a serious fight is not greay) and only create 1 thrall/cast (which may well die before you can casy bone spear next turn)

Good thing Spellhearts exist.
Jolt Coils for everyone. Even the Geode's Scatter Scree is looking very nice for the Necromancers that want to go for difficult terrain shenanigans.
Also, pretty sure the thrall cantrip is strike-optional, so you should be able to save your MAP.
But yeah, Bone Spear getting that d8 scaling while being able to multihit pretty much whenever 2 foes are adjacent is certainly eye-raising.
That said, because of the thrall mechanic, I've got no idea how easy/frustrating it'll be to actually use.

Hmm, is Bone Spear intended to heighten +2d8? It feels odd that the heighten doesn't align with the base damage here.
I think they didn't want it to dominate Imaginary Blades (which has the same scaling) at 1st level.
Bone Spear is much easier to hit two targets (can potentially do it with three) and since it's a MELEE spell attack you can even set it up to get flanking with the spear if you put a thrall in the path or at the end of the bath bookending the targets.

Not will. Can. So you can just not attack with the Thrall. The create thrall spell itself is not attack, only the Strike action the thrall make is an attack action.

Having to give up the attack is going to lead to a lot of salty players.

I feel the Necromancer is the class for positioning your thralls to max your effects on the battlefield. Not for immediate rewards.
Definitely not a class for every playstyle.
