I am so terribly sorry. If this has already been asked but I have looked all over and I can't find anything other than people trying to do.Spell strikes on themselves et cetera.
Can I use discern secrets on myself, because it has a target of one creature? This seems like it should be straightforward but, I can't find a straightforward answer. I just want that tasty bonus to my skill check Since my character is the one in our group who has all the lore skills?
The way I am taking to understanding. This is when you cast the spell. It creates a trigger free action for a single Skill check and then a bonus as long as you sustain the spell. This seems like it would be fantastic to cast on myself.
Your patron deigns to whisper a few secrets. The target can Recall Knowledge, Seek, or Sense Motive as a free action. The target gains a +1 status bonus to the statistic used for the roll (a skill or Perception) on the roll and as long as you Sustain the spell. The target is temporarily immune to discern secrets for 1 minute.

Yes you can target on yourself without problems. You are a creature and so you are a valid target for your spell.
But notice that the spell action economy isn't the best to be sustained in an encounter but due it make RK and multiple Seeks as free actions you can use it to RK everyone or Seek invisible targets in the same round that you cast it.
Talk with your GM if you will use it to Seek first due that this cantrip technically allows a creature to repeat Seek infinite times without use actions up to find someone hidden. Depending from how the GM interprets it your GM may want to restrict this checks in someway or simple consider the Seek as a critical success automatically (like as if you rolled a 20).
Outside of encounters you need to notice that this isn't a Subtle spell so for some GMs in some social situations may consider that you casting a spell, specially if the target recognizes it as a spell to Sense Motive, as offensive.

As it's unclear, it technically and definitely does not. I think that they meant it like this: "The target can Recall Knowledge, Seek, or Sense Motive as a free action [ONCE, RIGHT NOW]". Then 1 min immunity and +1 bonus if you continue to sustain. Not a bad use case for 1-action cantrip. So you can give your action to an ally which is the best for this plus a bonus (or to yourself, yes). Clearly better than Guidance which only gives a bonus, and mostly on the target's turn so later.

For targeting:
If a spell has an area, then it targets all creatures in the area - Breathe Fire.
If a spell doesn't list a target, then it targets the caster - Illusory Disguise.
If a spell targets a creature, it can target any creature including yourself, your allies, your enemies, or bystanders - Deja Vu. Discern Secrets would be in this category too.
If a spell targets willing creatures, it can also potentially target any creature, though it would be very rare circumstances to target enemies. Yourself, allies, and some bystanders would all be valid - Friendfetch.
If a spell targets an ally, it can target creatures that you are allied with, but not yourself (you are not your own ally) or enemies (bystanders are in a grey area that is GM call if they can be affected or not) - Soothing Words.
There are other target options as well, but they are fairly clearly specified in the spell targeting itself. Things like targeting an object (Invisible Item), a weapon (Runic Weapon), or specifically a falling creature (Gentle Landing).
