# of Field Tests?

Does anyone know how many Field Tests Paizo intends to release, and by what date all of the releases are live? I'm trying to setup a playthrough of Planetfall with Field Test characters, but there are missing pieces.

We know that there will be at least one other field test, presumably in May. No further info.

Given how fragmented and out-of date the info from field tests is, I would highly recommend waiting until August for the actual playtest rules to do something like this.

I had asked one of the devs, and they said there was one more coming but that it would be "Very different".

My assumption is that it is likely not a class, but probably a field test for tech, more weapons, maybe even a starship.

I hope it's for tech rules. IIRC we're not getting ships as a subsystem in the initial rulebook, are we?

I have heard others on reddit say ships might not be in the initial rulebook too, but have yet to see anyone able to link to a reliable source for that. This would be a good question to ask at the AMA

I really hope the "something different" field test is ship stuff, I'm chomping at the bit for good spaceship rules-- the only game I have for space combat is Lancer Battlegroup and that's for fleet level operations, rather than a Millenium Falcon Style Teamwork Vessel, or an X-Wing Style Squadron.

short version: field test 5 will release in early May and will focus on encounters made specifically for SF2

Awesome, thanks. Not as exciting as a class playtest but I'm looking forward to seeing what some of the baseline assumptions of encounters are going to look like in practice.
