Staff Nexus Question

How many Staff of your own can you have at a time?

i Known you charge one in daily preparations, but, can i have another for other uses?

Short answer - you can have as many staves as you can afford, but can only use one of them at a time.

As far as I can tell, Staff Nexus only gives you one customized staff.

You could get additional staves, but they wouldn't have your customized spells on them. You could also create Personal Staves (with GM permission, of course). But those still wouldn't be your Staff Nexus given staff except for perhaps the first one that you upgraded your Staff Nexus staff to be.

You could use your Staff Nexus abilities with any staff that you have - it doesn't have to be that one particular staff that the Wizard Thesis gives. There is a general rule that you can only prepare one staff each day, and it looks like you are already aware of that.

Thanks,
My costomized Staf is now a Staff of fire (a wizard lv5) in the next level i want convert a staff of element power, i know that no possible change Staff of fire for staff of element ... my idea was create another customized staff and craft to staff of element power and sell Staff of fire later, That's why I was asking if you could have several customized staff in the same time.

It is an open and unanswered question in the rules if a Staff Nexus Wizard is able to deconvert or downgrade their Nexus staff after upgrading it. So that is something that you will have to work with your GM about.

It does feel very limiting and unintended that if you upgrade your Nexus staff to a Staff of Fire with your custom spells on it, then you have to stick with the Staff of Fire for the rest of the campaign or go without your custom spells on the Staff of Elemental Power when you switch to that. But there is nothing in the rules that says otherwise.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I would handle it as a GM by using the retraining rules. The text there makes it clear you shouldn't normally be locked into a character option.

The problem is that it is for Society, so I don't know how to handle the situation, normally I am the GM 50% of the time.

OK. Let's ask this on the PFS forum too then.
