Is there anywhere we can buy Pathfinder pdf’s with PayPal?

Pathfinder Second Edition General Discussion

I get that Paizo decided ages back not to provide PayPal as a payment option for whatever reason, but every time I use credit card details on the internet I feel like I’m gambling with my bank balance and not being able to find an option to delete my old payment methods is not encouraging (even if they have expired).

At the same time I love the look of what Paizo are publishing and would happily buy the pdf copies if I could just use PayPal *somewhere*.

So, is there an option somewhere I’ve missed?

As someone who had the same line of thought but then just jumped into it at one point I can at least tell you that if you put your info up at paizo, there it remains safe

The Pathfinder 2nd edition legacy bundle at Humble Bundle can be bought with PayPal, at least. It doesn't give you full choice of what PDFs to get, but it's a way of getting some of them.

There's services dedicated to providing "proxy" or anonymous credit card(s) for online shopping. Whatever name you want, let card $$ values / limits, ect.

Basically, if you want more potential options than what PayPal does (such as actually being treated as a credit card, being able to potentially spin up a "card" for a single online subscription /website you feel is sketch) then a service like IronVest may be appealing.

It does trade a being a bit more involved / hassle, but this seems to be a clear use-case for IronVest type services. Kinda hard to say which is the best, there's a couple.

At least up here in Canada, there are also pre-paid credit cards available.

Thanks for the replies.

I did buy the humble bundle but I don't think it includes the latest GM Core which I would particularly like.

I'll look into IronVest as sadly Canada is a bit far away from Australia. ;)

Why would your bank balance be at risk? You're using a credit card and not your debit card, aren't you?

The rare occasion when someone gets my credit card information (which has never happened with Paizo), I simply contact the credit card company and dispute the charges and/or report the card lost/stolen (whicheveris most appropriateto the situation). Bit of a hassle as it usually means getting a new card, but it's never once touched or otherwise put my bank account at risk.

On the other hand, I keep my debit card under lock and key, and never use it save to make ATM withdraws.

We are introducing a new e-commerce system in 2024 and, while I’m not up to speed on PayPal specifically, we hope to offer more payment options, generally.

I’m imagining this will be part of a website store reconfigure talked about in a blogpost earlier this year (by Jim Butler I think?). Would love to know more about any website changes, particularly how the forums may be impacted, and super-particularly the Play-by-post forums…

I’m also imagining you aren’t at liberty to divulge anything specific at this point…
