What type of creatures are esufey?

I am not clear what type of creatures esufey from the Niobe sourcebook are supposed to be. The flavor text says they don't have a separate soul and that makes me think that they are outsiders and thus Raise Dead and similar spells that need a soul would not work on them.

It's possible that in that world they are considered nature spirits and might be a form of fey.
Most fey would have low-light vision and a few supernatural powers, but fey run the gamut of types and abilities.

Otherwise, it's possible that these are just that sourcebook or world's version of elves (just linked to magic and having no souls). So they could just be humanoid (elf), but that might depend on if that book or world has 'plain' elves in it or not.

Offhand, I'm going to guess that creature types aren't particularly important in 'the fantasy world of Asunda' that this race is supposed to be used in and therefore isn't spelled out. A complete guess on my part, of course...

If you're expected to play their supplement using Pathfinder rules, then the Type of the race ( link ) is important for the effects of various spells. From the flavor (elemental first-born fairies), you could argue they were outsiders with the elemental subtype, or native outsiders, or fey. Or the lack of a specified Type could mean they default to humanoid. It was never clarified as far as I can tell.

I would say that they are Humanoid with the Esufey subtype.

Since this race is third party you will probably have more success in that forum instead of the rules forum.

They aren't quite third-party: The book (which I am not personally familiar with) was published by Paizo, but it presumably wasn't meant to interact with the main product line in more than a general fashion (it's for a specific 'non-Golarion' campaign world).

So, it's probably in a kinda grey area of 'first party, but not really part of the actual Pathfinder product line...'
