pathfinder 2e ability boost

Pathfinder Second Edition General Discussion

so we've been playing pathfinder 2e for a while now, and we started with the beginner box and reached level 4. I saw that on every 5th level you gain four abvility boosts but the character spreadsheet only has ability modifiers, no ability scores so how do i increase at 5th level the ability modifiers ??

Your ability modifier increase would be half the value of your boosts. So if you are increasing a stat from 12 to 14, your boost would raise it from +1 to +2.

If it's +4 or higher then it takes two boosts to raise the modifier. I believe the remaster character sheets will have a little box you can check. I usually put a little x or * next to the value to remind myself.

Use the Ability Modifier table.

Pretty soon, none of the rules will reference Ability Scores anyway.

If an ability modifier is less than 4, add 1 per ability boost. If an ability modifier is 4 or greater, add 0.5 or make a tick or some mark to show that you need to use another ability boost at level 10 to reach the next full increment.

Or switch to a standard character sheet instead of the Beginner Box one.

Starting in November the "standard" character sheet is only going to display ability modifiers, exactly the same way the BB character sheets do currently.

Using a different kind of ability modifier display for just 90 days is likely to be more confusing than sticking with the BB ones until then.
