Can any character get Style feats, or only Monks?

Rules Questions

So long as the pre-requisites are met, can any character class get access to Style feats? It seems like originally these were intended only for monks, as the original list had Improved Unarmed Strike as a pre-requisite for all style feats. However, as the list of style feats expanded, it looks like this requirement was dropped.

So, can a straight Fighter gain Style feats? If not, is there some way a non-Monk can gain access to Style feats?

Style feats are just feats. As long as you have the listed prerequisites, you can take the feats.

Just because something was intended for a specific class doesn't mean it's limited to the class, unless something says otherwise.

Crane Style (Combat, Style)
Your unarmed fighting techniques blend poise with graceful defense.

Prerequisites: Dodge, Improved Unarmed Strike, base attack bonus +2 or monk level 1st.

There you go; you don't have to be a monk for this. If any style feat had "monk level" and no alternative as a prerequisite, that would be another thing.

Even an animal companion can take style feats, if you raise their Int enough to allow them to take any feat, not just the limited list. My wife has a gnome cavalier who gave her war pony Dragon Style. It was worth the "feat tax" for Improved Unarmed Strike to insure that her allies wouldn't mess up her charge lanes.

She also has a scout rogue who learned Dragon Style to make the archetype's charge for sneak attack schtick easier to pull off.
