Can you use Reach Spell with the gouging claw Spell? If so, what exactly happens?

Yes, you can. Imagining how exaclty that looks is up to you.

It also works with Starlit Span Spellstrike and Eldritch Shot, btw.

If you can envision an attack with a weapon with an Extending rune ... yeah, it's like that only half as far.
