Starting Ship

Hello folks,

What ships are good for first level and first time Starfinder players?

And is there a link or list with full deckplans of the ships?

Are PCs supposed to have a tier ship equal to their level?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, the PCs ship tier should equal their level.

Most APs or Scenarios that use spaceships have deck plans in them. Some of the ships have separate flip maps available too.

The Drake and Pegasus are common ships used in Starfinder Society.

It's a bit high for a level 1 party, but the classic Sunrise Maiden, from Starfinder's first Adventure Path, is a good 'starting ship,' especially for folks new to tactical hex-based combat: the front weapon has the broad arc ability, so the ship is fairly forgiving for people getting used to ship facing and direction arcs being a thing.
Beyond that, there's a whole list of pre-built Starship examples by tier on AoN here. They don't all have tactical deck plan maps, but like Driftbourne said, some of them do, out there :) If you (or your party) wanted to try their hand at building, I suggest using one of the online ship-building tools, like James Turner's excellent one.

Thank you for the responses folks. I've been GMing for years and I am just starting out with SF. We used this module first (a great romp) and the party is trading in the shuttlecraft for a used spaceship.

Next up is going through the Beginner box set adventure which is fun also.

Thank you again.

I keep thinking that 1st-level PCs don't get ships. They start by hitch-hicking or charting ships for their first destinations, and then they pool their credits to get their own ship.

Y'know, similar to how you take the bus until you can get you own car ^^;
