Greetings I seek your advice. This spell provides a great visual, however I'm not sure of it's uses. Our group consists of three melee characters, I myself a sorcerer. Does this spell have a place in a Sorcerer's repertoire or is it not quite up to par with spells like Fireball, Lightning Bolt, Heightened Fear.
Blazing Dive is mostly a spell for caster/martial hybrid characters. So Magus loves it. Druid likes it quite a bit. Martial characters with a spellcasting archetype could get some utility out of it (it won't do fantastic damage at the level you can cast it at). Maybe Summoner, but probably not. Sorcerer, Wizard, Witch ... probably not - unless they are built to include a lot of front-line melee capability.
You could use the spell just for its movement ability, but in many cases, you could use a 1st level spell on Jump instead.
My Battle Oracle certainly wishes he could take it.
Yes it is such a cinematic spell, that I wish there were ways for a martial to get it. It needs to be put into an item like jet boots...
