Hello all. I am seeking two or maybe three players to join an existing group to begin the module Malevolence where the players are hired to investigate a creepy mansion in an isolated abandoned town on the coast.
I have run a group through Fall of Plaguestone and three wish to continue. Currently the group has a Human Duskwalker Oracle (rebuilt from a cleric), a Dwarven Rogue and a Halfling Monk. Characters that can bring something new to the table and compliment the group would have an edge.
Characters would be third level. The posting rate wouldn't be the most fast paced but it's a good group.

Hello All!
I am interested in playing Malevolence. I have plenty of PF2e experience. Completed FoPS, AoA and in final chaper of EC.
How long would you allow some research? I would like to think of a fitting concept.
October and Malevolence sounds spooky fun!
Thank you for running.
So, I am reading and this hook caught my attention. Thinking an aspiring Signifier Hellknight wants to reclaim the House for the Order.
Ancestry?
Class Warpriest or Magus.
I have already played a Cloistered Cleric in AoA, so leaning Magus.

Hmm... This might be the place for my half-gnome fighter.
Niven has long flowing purple hair, a nicely trimmed goatee, pointed ears. He's carrying a godawful contraption with spikes and hammerheads and clockwork gears that no sane person would pick up, let alone fight with. Your immediate thought is that he's a gnome.
Except that he's nearly six foot and filled out with a decent amount of muscle.

@Crusaderwolf Malevolence is just one book, the party will level up once or twice. A thaumaturge could work, I have yet to see one in play. Free archetype is interesting but we aren't doing it for this campaign.
@Dorian Grey-Certainly at least two weeks. As an Arminger they might just be thinking of letting him get some experience in this odd experience. Reclaiming it for the order might be a harder sell... working with an aspiring hell knight is easier than working for the order.
@Philo-Seems interesting. If you wanted to lean into the fey ancestry part of the gnomes you could simulate it with taking something like a multiclass archetype for druid or a sorceror with primal spells. Just an idea. Just a notion not sure how optimal it would be.

Dorian 'Grey' |

Agreed. I am thinking that his ego has more to do with it than the Order...lol.
Researching Magus. I need Heavy Armor Proficiency, so Sentinel Dedication at 2nd seems likely, as it increases as his class Proficiency does. Much better than just taking General feat.
Thinking sword and board melee. Arcana, Occultism and Athletics will be his primary skills.
I am working on his Profile.

Oh, I was thinking more of the gnomish martial style with gadgets and interesting tactics. If I do go with an archetype it's going to be gunslinger or inventor. Though I'll have to balance that with fighter options to trip and shove and control things like that.
And he'll have a very gnomish attitude with the bravado ad joy de vivre.

I'd be interested; looking at the current party, I am thinking that I could bring a gnome bard (Enigma muse), for knowledge and magical support.
I have been both playing and DMing PF2 for about half a year, mostly play-by-post on Discord (as Arthog, if you are on either Cayden's Keg or Find the Path). I typically like playing characters with good support abilities (wizard and cleric are my most advanced PF2 characters).

Here is Philo's work. I'll add more background shortly.
But I do have a Picture. The only issue is that his gun doesn't have all the fancy bits.

Here is a draft for Quisillo Monta, Gnome Bard.

I see him as particularly interested in the occult and mystical, which would make him interested in investigating the mansion.
He has a deep well of knowledge of magic and esoterica, but is a little disconnected from the material world.
Mechanically, he would help with buffs (Inspire Courage), heals (Soothe), recall knowledge, debuffs (fear, ill omen) and maybe some illusions.

I'm up for this. How about being brothers? (technically half-brothers, but Niven wouldn't focus on the half part)
I'd certainly be game for that; there could be a fun odd-duo dynamics between the two, given their... let's say, fairly distinct physicality, and refusal to acknowledge it (if that's how Niven presents his half-gnome heritage).

I see a common father more easily, I guess, for a half-gnome?
For the age... would it fit Niven's character to have a little brother slightly out-of-touch with reality, who may have benefited from protection and a (relatively...) more grounded influence growing up?
Or do you not see Niven as the responsible type in any way? In the latter case, they could have constantly gotten each other into trouble.

Little brother works well. I see him as the kind who would let you run free but keep a good watch. He's the kind who will let you try to talk us out of the trouble you talked us into but be ready to take more decisive action when needed. After all, being a little out of touch with reality has literally given you magical power.
