Brykolakas question

Rules Questions

ok, so I killed an NPC with a Brykolakas, someone the PCs DO care about, and so will still be in possession of his body for a few days until they can get him back to his family. They managed to kill the Brykolakas, no real problem, HOWEVER, the question I have is... since those killed by the Brykolakas rise as lacedons under the Brykolaka's control in 1d4 days... do they still rise, only as an uncontrolled undead? Or does it circumvent the zombification?

They still rise as Lacedons, just free-willed.

Agreed with VoodistMonk. Still rises as Lacedon, but the being that was going to control is no longer exists so it will have free will.

You could prevent zombification....but it's going to involve destroying the body.

I'm in agreement with VoodistMonk and Claxon, he becomes a lacedon in 1d4 days and has free will.

But! If the PC's don't want to see their favorite NPC become undead, they have 1d4 days to cast Sanctify Corpse on the corpse and then go find a cleric to Raise Dead him.
