Hello everybody
A question regarding the thaumaturge. If you build a weapon thaumaturge with obviously two one handed weapons its also obvious to use feats like double slice... so far so good...
Double slice states: "Combine the damage from both Strikes and apply resistances and weaknesses only once."
To underline my issues I'll use the following example: The creature has two weaknesses iron and fire.
So if you use EXPLOIT VULNERABILITY and then use Mortal Weakness or Personal Antithesis you hit the creature twice but RAW the the weakness is only triggered once as you would if you had two iron weapons.
But what if you have one iron and one fire weapon? Then both weaknesses will be triggert. And that's what bothering me, especially with a class that is based on weaknesses.
Why is it that if you hit the creature two times with an iron weapon it only counts once but it counts twice if you hit with the iron and fire weapon?
In conclusion if you find out that a creature has a vulnerability that you with trigger with one of your weapons anyway you would always take Personal Antithesis to gain a secondary weakness only to bypass this issue. In my view it invalidates Mortal Weakness totally.
Or do I forget something?

The power of your implement can also be turned to the more common task of combat, its power adding to and amplifying the effects of runes and other magical empowerments. When you Strike, you can trace mystic patterns with an implement you're holding to empower the Strike, causing it to deal 2 additional damage per weapon damage die. Channeling the power requires full use of your hands. You don't gain the benefit of implement's empowerment if you are holding anything in either hand other than a single one-handed weapon, other implements, or esoterica, and you must be holding at least one implement to gain the benefit.
I'll note that Implement's Empowerment explicitly restricts you from gaining its benefit if you wield more than a single one-handed weapon. Double slice isn't worth giving up Implement's Empowerment.
You would be able to use Exploit Weakness as that does not have that restriction built in quite so explicitly.
(I do think this could've been worded better, FYI)

A Free-Hand weapon with a held weapon might work since you aren't holding it: "you can use abilities that require you to have a hand free as well as those that require you to be wielding a weapon in that hand."
So a Bladed Gauntlet + a one handed weapon look viable to me.

Given that you can have a one handed weapon in one hand, and a weapon that is an implement in your other hand, what is your problem?
Is the wording tight enough to lock this down? Not from what I can tell. But I may have missed something ....

Double Slice requires that each weapon be held in a separate hand. It is (going very pseudo-Talmudic, admittedly) possible that free-hand weapons cannot be used with Double Slice, since they are not held in a hand.
Free hand says it counts as being in your hand for bilities that require it.

Hm, yes. Yes, I knew that. Yesterday was mentally exhausting.
Plus I'm sure they didn't want full plate to turn off IE. I imagine that when the choice came down to "banning all free hand weapons" vs "allowing two weapons only in the case of free hand weapons" vs "banning plate" that they shrugged and picked the 2nd option. It's the least restrictive and a GM can still say no if they really want.
Though I still want to see a juggler thaum. To really break the intent :D
