What is the best race and theme for......

General Discussion

I need a computer hacker, a trap expert disabled both mechanical and magical, a spellcaster and has to be a smooth talker.

There are so many races now. And I don't see anything in the themes listed. I did see kobold..... and I like me the kobold. But that hit to con sucks.

I am biased, but... and a n00b... but what about xenomorphic android technomancer? as for what kind of xenomorphic android it could be elven dragonkind dwarven or, if your dm allows it, dwelven.

How is trap detection done in starfinder? And is there something that can do that? Or something like a sabotour. If you know how to set up death traps you know how to disable them.

Trap spotting is incredibly high perception dc, at least once you enter high levels :p you basically want perception as class skill, good wisdom, that toolkit that gives +4 perception bonus to find trap and maybe skillfocus unless your class gets insight bonus to perception already. Like disabling traps is easier than spotting them.

Xenoarcheologist theme gives you Trap Spotter at level 6 which means secret automatic perception rolls, but otherwise you declare you roll perception to try to find traps.

Thank you dragon person!

Especially with the < 18 attribute cap, min/maxing races is pointless. For 1500 credits you can overcome that stat penalty and more.

Ohh I get that robo being. I was having the hardest time finding a way of finding traps besides with my face. I also stumbled across the archetype safety inspector for a trap finding ability at lvl 2.

Second Seekers (Ehu Hadif)

Honestly, you're going to have a hard time doing everything you list in your original post with just one character, without some multiclassing (which would hurt spellcasting classes most, because they already have slow progression).

How important is spellcasting to this character? Would investing in Mysticism for disabling magical traps cover what you most want well enough? If so, you can't beat an operative for breadth and depth of skills. And that class can take Trap Spotter as an exploit at 2nd level.

One of the better options for all of that is probably damaya lashunta (for Student/+2 racial bonus in two of Computers, Engineering, Mysticism, and Perception; stacks with insight bonuses) cyberborn* or xenoarchaeologist** mystic (glitchghost connection). Take Skill Synergy (Computers, Diplomacy) if needed to gain Computers as a class skill and a +2 insight bonus on Diplomacy; take Skill Focus (Computers) at some point to get a +3 insight bonus on Computers. Glitchghost has Engineering and Mysticism as associated skills; Channel Skill provides up to a +7 insight bonus in associated skills as levels increase.

*- if you want to emphasize hacking/cybernetics more
**- if you want to emphasize trap expert more

Kobold cyberborn or xenoarchaeologist mystic (glitchghost connection) can also work; will probably be a bit better at detecting traps and a bit less of a bonus on either Computers or Mysticism.
