Like... Why are the Onyx Alliance the latest big bads of this metaplot? Did people vote to side against Nigel or did writers just really want to do the "Onyx Alliance might have reformed but still eeeeeeevil" plotline?
Like... I'm not sure why OA is particularly motivated to act against Society instead of Blakros family when lot of pathfinders seem fed up with Blakros family getting away with lot of questionable things <_<

pretty sure its just an upshot of the reporting conditions not allowing the nuance needed.
All the tables I ran, played at, or talked to at cons, expressed the desire to

"The Blakros clan sold their own hatchlings to collectors on another plane! There's a special spot in HELL for those kinds of people -- that's not an act of 'Love'. I don't think we should burn down the Museum. We should buy it out and tell the Blakros to just... go somewhere nice and retire forever."

Another thing I'm confused by:
Absalom books keeps making references to Sarnia Blakros' taking over Onyx Alliance having happened in 4712 and that being public... But she was introduced in Daughter's Due (2019) right, so is this error or retcon or what?
Edit: oki got heard that timeline was that after her being sold to OA at 4700 she took 15 years to take control of OA, so it is timeline error by 3 years, but not big one

I did more digging up on this and uh its even more complicated than I thought because Absalom book talks as if Sarnia was directly involved in Blakros Matrimony scenario along with character named Pieter who wasn't in that scenario either. So either its retcon or error?
I believe there was an Onyx Alliance attack on the Grand Convocation it was only run at Paizocon that year and never released to the Society to run at large. Somewhere I remember reading a brief synopsis about what happened at that convocation, though I can't remember where I saw it.

While I normally run everything before playing it, I'm getting a chance to play some recent-ish metaplot scenarios before reading them which is wonderful.
However, I just got to play one of them, which I suspect was the catalyst for this thread (even more than just the metaplot in general) and yes its falling extremely flat for me, Almost to the point of just wanting to skip playing/gm any following metaplot scenario this season. (Which would be sad since its a very metaplot heavy season).

So Im spoilering this because as insane as this sounds it actually follows lore and might be right.
Also in case anyone is wondering what I mean by that spoiler Im just going to leave this here:
I would pay particular attention to the company that some of the prominent elder generation of Blakroses have been keeping recently, perhaps behind their husband's back, and that may lead to some additional clues about the true identity of a particularly charming gentleman who was first introduced... well, I'm not going to say when he was first introduced, that's too many clues. [...] Its a BIGGG deal.
