Calistrians Stance on Succubi

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

The subject line itself summarizes the question. What do you think is the general viewpoint of the Calistrian clergy in regards to succubi?

Admiration?

'Yeah, they're the epitome of lust, what's not to like?'

Indifference?

'Too reckless and they ignore the general idea of revenge.'

Hatred?

'They give lust a bad name!'

This came up because in a side story thread of a game that's now ended (and involving characters from a previous game), a high level priestess of Calistria was attending (and co-officiating) a wedding where two of the abyssal beasties decided to attend (in disguise). We were wondering what would the church's official stance on the demons be.

Opinions?

Calistria allows CE clerics. The church probably has no "official" position on them.

Take a look at Calistria's Edicts and Anathemas:

Calistria wrote:

Edicts pursue your personal freedom, seek hedonistic thrills, take revenge

Anathema become too consumed by love or a need for revenge, let a slight go unanswered

Nothing here that really screams out against a succubus. Really the anathema speaks to their favor. Becoming obsessed with Lust could lead you to becoming a succubus in the next life.

The Calistrian position is probably “consent is important, even when binding outsiders. Use protection and Demons do not have your best interests in mind. Have fun!”

"We suggest the 'Stance of Six-Veiled Passion' when dealing with succubi."

"Consult the sacred texts on this matter."

Canonical Calistrian text.
