What's your favorite monster that's new to 2e?

Pathfinder Second Edition General Discussion

I like the new species of siktemporas, mainly because the whole concept (living embodiments of emotions) is cool. I also really like the brainchild, since nothing else is quite like it, and it's abilities are unique.

I think the new elementals are great (with each size of elemental being a distinct creature rather than being slightly bigger versions of each other).

The Mukradi from bestiary 1 is also fantastic, it is absolute nightmare fuel.

Probably liches. In PF1 liches operated much like casters and weren't particularly fearsome. They had physical attacks, but didn't get to use them too much and would rely more on spells.

With this 3 action system and the new lich design, they are a fearsome creature that is able to cast and use their nasty physical attacks.

Fiends are pretty cool now too with the D. Door and attack in the same round nastiness.

Goblins... Ho no, not a monster anymore :D

I like Brainchild, too. But there are many I like, and as I don't know all the PF1 monsters, I have hard time knowing if they are new or not.

Scarab Sages

Yeah, it can be a little tricky to spot what's completely new and what's just revamped/reinvented.

I don't know if it's my fave, but the Roiling Incant is a 2E monster I really like. True, the idea of a spell somehow coming alive isn't exactly new, but I like how this monster was created, and how it low key demonstrates the sorts of wild monsters that can be created just by messing around with the trait system. (The creature doesn't have any monster traits, and uses magical tradition and school traits, instead.)

Also got to give it up for Brain Child; that's a really fun monster.
