Does Thaumaturge have enough skill increases to keep up with Divine Disharmony? I'm making one right now, and between the pressure to keep knowledge skills high and the relatively small use for intelligence it seems hard to justify keeping up with Deception or Intimidation to use it. The character is for a high-level oneshot so I managed to fit it in, but I'm not sure I'd bother if I was starting from level 1. I like the ability, but it seems to clash with the class mechanically a bit. Thoughts?

The thaumaturge should get an extra skill every odd level like the rogue, but locked into one of the four magic skills
My reasoning: the rule of threes, you get three sets of three skill boosts this way!
Honestly, does it need to be super high? Trained or Expert should be fine right? Cha is one of your main stats. Just that will make sure it is an ok number.

Unless you get free action rerolls like Loremaster's Etude, you absolutely want maxed out proficiency; the class is very dependent on passing Recall Knowledge. If you fail RK, you spend two turns just to power up, and when your ranged options are mostly limited to thrown weapons, that hurts a lot.
Compare to say, a ranger, who can just hunt prey for one action, no skill roll required, and you get extra bonuses against said prey
My earlier post was a bit tongue in cheek though; I'd actually favor 3 boosts throughout the career, and have reroll/skill substitution mechanics, as I feel these are more interesting than just "every thaumaturge is legendary at all 4 magic skill", though I wouldn't be opposed at all to that; I just think "I may be a specialist in the divine, but I can carry over my spiritual knowledge to ID the occult thing"

Two actions on a fail, not two turns.
Yeah, thats what I meant; late night typing and all. Still, that's one more action than a similar feature that isn't skill restricted
Imo though, I'd definitely favor something like kreightons cognative crossover linked to esoteric lore and your "main" magic skill than just so many skill boosts you legendary them all; it's better reflects most occultism practices Ive seen, where people typically have a focus, but kinda dabble in other areas

I don't know if it needs to be super high. Worse case scenario, Divine Disharmony goes from something pretty useful at low levels to something rarely used at high levels because the Thaumaturge can't reliably trigger it. It's not as big a problem as, say, Find Flaws not working where a lot of class features simply stop functioning if you can't get that RK check to at least fail. You just go from using a feat to considering retraining it because it's hard to keep Intimidation or Deception high when you also want to keep Religion, Arcana, Occultism, and Nature high. I just really like the flavor of the feat, so I'll be a bit sad if it's something that becomes unreliable and a target for retraining at late levels.

I decided to pull up a list of creatures and whew you where not wrong. Monster level 18s. You aren't hitting those dcs even close without Legendary.
