Whenever I see the occasional medusa in an AP, I always want to play a less murder-y version of that. And when I looked up medusas on AON today for reasons, it also listed "Stheno" under the results. I remembered reading the name on here somewhere and some people being excited about them, so I read the entry.
And boy howdy, do I want this as an ancestry now. If it doesn't come in Grand Bazaar, then hopefully soon. Though it would be the perfect place for them, since they don't really have a home.
Apart from the really cool backstory of how they came to be and, you know, medusas without all the murder and statues, it also has one of the best abilities I've ever seen - Snake Search. When you Seek or Search, your hair-snakes do the same, but with a penalty. If they find anything, they try really hard to tell you, but they are still little dingus-snakes. So they are not exactly mental champions and may or may not tell you stuff that they think is vitally important, but really isn't. I absolutely love it XD
A book about shops in Absalom and the things you can buy from them would be a very odd place for an ancestry. It'll be nice when we do get them, of course!

The book is confirmed to have an ancestry, though they won't tell us which one until release.

Ooh! You know, I think I might have even heard that and forgotten. Given that, yeah, I can see why you'd be thinking stheno for it. Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing what.
I too hope the ancestry comes soon. Something about it just seems really cool to me.
I thought the ancestry was Azarketi, but they had to put it out as a web supplement due to the book slipping in production and Azarketi being part of the Ancestry guide. Are there 2 ancestries?
Azarkei is in the Lost Omens: Absalom book, which had been delayed, and which was why they added the Web Supplement.
The unknown ancestry is in Magical Marketplace. As I recall, the only thing we know is that it's not an ancestry that's been done in Pathfinder before.
Oh yeah! You're totally right I got those mixed up. Thanks a lot. That means we're getting an ancestry I wasn't expecting. That's awesome. Stheno would definitely be cool, but excited for anything.
