Occultist?
Kineticist?
I feel like we just had a thread about Occult Adventures.
A suit of Mock Armor maybe?
A mage in fullplate?
Mithral(-10%) Hellknight Plate(+35%) with Arcane Armor Mastery(-20%) and 5 levels of Hellknight Signifer to make Arcane Armor Mastery a free action and another -5% for 0% ASF in Hellknight Plate. Shielded Mage for -15% ASF off using a shield (and can do somatic with shield hand).
I think someone has a mech suit build out there for animate object.

Thoughts on how to play someone with a suit of magitech armour. Without armored battlemage magus.
As is often the case synthesist summoner could look right for this. It's often banned though.
A steelblood bloodrager can wear heavy armor and cast spells, or an id rager bloodrager if they spend a feat on proficiency. The arcane bloodline is good for adding special effects, but I'm not at all sure which emotional focus would be best for you if you go the id rager way.
An occultist with heavy armor prof. is easy enough to make and could have implements imbedded into the armor.
There's a line of psi-tech discoveries, and nothing to stop a psychic wearing heavy armor if they have proficiency from a multiclass or otherwise. There's a prestige class supporting such a multiclass.
Construct armor is a thing if you're starting at a high enough level, or willing to wait for that.
Here's a weird one. There's an ooze which can act as armour made out of sapphire crystals. It's extraplanar so could be called by an appropriate spell.
Divine spellcasters can wear heavy armor if they have the proficiency and many can cast spells appropriate to a battle mage.
The mech pilot thing firebug mentioned is about using object possession. It's not compatible with an armored battle mage idea IMO since you can't cast any other spells while doing so.

See this is why I choose the armored battlemage it felt like the most....direct approach to what I want

Yes, but the armored battlemage magus is terrible. It loses spell combat (for nothing) and replaces the maguses ability to enhance their weapon with one to enhance their armor (about half as valuable). It doesn't get heavy armor until 7th level (most of those options I listed get it at 1st!) and loses a couple of arcana too. How is that more direct?
Edit: or what exactly is it that you want? We can almost certainly find something better, just define the level range and what sort of magical effects you associate with 'battle mage'.

Well basically full plate armor, ability to enchant said armor on the fly, maybe the ability to put it on immidiately or have it enhance your capabilities. Having thought that I think maybe psychometric vigilante would work with its vigilante form being you getting into the suit?

'enchant said armor on the fly' - an occultist can do this, or if you play a synthesist summoner with the eidolon-suit as armor it can too.
'have it enhance your capabilities' - ditto.
'put it on immediately' - synthesist summoner with the summon eidolon spell works as a standard action. The Serren's swift girding spell isn't on the occultist list, but there's a couple of ways to access it anyway.
Psychometrist vigilante works but definitely has no way to put heavy armor on fast; well, they can put it on in 1 minute if they take the masked maiden archetype also, if you call 1 minute fast. Occultist is going to be better because magic - also they get Int + level mental focus where a psychometrist gets Int + half level.

I think BATTLE HOST Occultist is probably the best for this. More-or-less all your class features are channeled through your armour (including spells).
It's a slight downgrade from the regular Occultist, but it fits the theme perfectly and gives you an unbreakable suit of masterwork armour for free at first level.

Oh yeah this looks absolutely ideal for what i want...UGH if only it were arcane and not psychic. I suppose i could make it so it's like the armor is doing most of the casting for you but still..
