If you're looking for Assurance (Medicine), though, the Raised by Belief Background has multiple options.
I was actually toying with having a Sarkorian character worshipping the Stag Mother of the Forest of Stones for this exact reason.

All common backgrounds unless specifically called out are legal for PFS characters, correct?
Specifically, since Abomination Vault is sanctioned, and the Eldritch Anatomist background is in the AV Players guide and not tagged Uncommon or Rare, it's freely available for PFS characters?
To expand on this and for future clarity: generally, stuff from an AP or other Adventure is only sanctioned by earning a chronicle for that volume. Items will show up on the chronicle sheets and the boons often grant access to other options like feats and archetypes. Earning this chronicle also prevents you from having to purchase the AP volume. This is all done to both incentivize playing the APs (because they're fun!) and to avoid a run on book #3 of a random AP because there's an option everybody wants in it and they have to buy the book to get it.

Can you get backgrounds by playing an AP, Alex? I was eyeing the background Dragon Scholar, from the Age of Ashes players guide. Can one earn a players guide background by playing an AP? I know that there are *ahem* other backgrounds that one may earn by playing the AP, but I'm specifically interested in the ones from Players Guides.

Alas. I would play ACP for that one, because it was so perfect for one of my kobolds.
Zot became a gambler instead, and the fact that she knows NOTHING about dragons (but thinks she knows EVERYTHING about dragons has now become an important part of her character.
Thank you for your swift reply, Alex.
