Staff acrobat and Mauler

Advice

Hello, is it effective to use the staff acrobat and mauler together ?

Thanks for your future answer.

They're each Dedication feats, so the usual restriction applies:

"You can't select another dedication feat until you have gained two other feats from [this] archetype."

This looks like an advise question and not a rules question, flagged so it's moved to the right forum.

You could but I don't see much benefit of doing that, Staff Acrobat is all about Trips and Shoves and Mauler also have a few of those and they don't stack because they are their own different activities.

So just choose the flavor that you like more.

Well, here it will get answered from a rules perspective.

So yes, a Witch with a 14 STR could take Mauler dedication. Then after paying off the dedication with a couple more Mauler feats, could take Staff Acrobat dedication using any of the weapons that they now have proficiency with.

The Human feat Multitalented wouldn't help with that since Staff Acrobat isn't a Multiclass Archetype.

Similarly shenanigans with Ancient Elf won't help since neither archetype is a Multiclass Archetype. Plus, Ancient Elf wouldn't help with when you could pay off the first archetype.

So the earliest you are likely to get the Staff Acrobat dedication after taking Mauler would be level 8. If you don't really need the feats from Mauler, you might consider just taking a general feat for weapon proficiency. Or just using the simple 'staff' weapon that basically every class except Monk gets automatically.

* Actually, even Monk gets proficiency with a staff. They just can't use Monk unarmed abilities with it. So no flurry of blows with the staff by default.
