He had already used up contingency etc.
Wouldn't his Contingency Greater Dispel Magic remove Trap the Soul?
Or get pinged back with Spell Turning that according to his tactics he casts during his first turn in Time Stop?

Also....used true name on a Gate Archon to summon a Djinn and then a few wishes to trap Karzoug in a gem.
