Poison steep + greater gift of consumption

Hey all, I initially wanted to make my witch create and then expose herself to poisons and redirect using greater gift of consumption but poisons are turning out to be a bit to pricey. Would poisoning a bunch of berries with poison steep be an effective strategy?

It would have my hex DC as it's save for six turns + misfortune and evil eye to make it harder to save against. Do you think that's enough damage to be worth using?


Just take the spell Beguiling Gift and hand them something poisonous/cursed. Later on, take the Spell Hex feat at level 11 and now Beguiling Gift becomes your Hex DC and you can do it 1000 times per day.

Cauldron + Poison Steep + GoC + GGoC is awfully expensive for what I think you're trying to get at, and its expensive in both Gold Pieces and Feat/Hexes.

If you're trying to go for the "Stealthy poison" by eating something poisonous and then making someone else make a Fort Save, then you can do something similar with Beguiling Gift + Sleight of Hand and/or a Glove of Storing and never actually put yourself in danger, and now you can also play with Cursed items like Necklace of Strangulation and Scarab of Death + any poisons you can get your hands on.

Step 1: Cast(or Hex) Beguiling Gift.

Step 2: Hand the BBEG a Necklace of Strangulation, which he will immediately use. (or anything poisoned, which they will immediately eat/drink)

Step 3: Cast Summon Lawn Chair and Summon Popcorn

Step 4: When he's done being asphyxiated to death, finish your popcorn and loot the body and make sure to grab your Necklace.

Step 5: (optional) Find someone else to strangulate/poison.

Spell hex on beguiling gift could be good but our gm is being pretty light on the gold getting handed out, were all level 7 and only just got enough money to buy 3/4 of our headband/belt items with pretty much nothing else. Which is to say poison crafting will break the bank and even a cursed scarab will empty our pockets.

Which is why I was hoping this combo would provide free con damage after I've completed my evil eye + misfortune combo


1d3 Con damage per round, Fort negates each round. That's not actually amazing - at the very best it'll still take multiple rounds to score a kill over and above the 2-3 round setup you're suggesting. Also many things are immune to poison.

On the other hand aggressively eating an apple at someone to kill them has a certain style.


it sounds like you're already a pre-existing character? or are you just creating it at level 7?

because if you're allowed to tweak every race has that option where you were poisoned by Drow as bait or something like that. But it makes your blood poison. but it doesn't state you're immune so if you bite yourself you're exposed and can take damage from it.
So you could use that.

Other option would be a Familiar (which as a withc should be there) and that improved familiar to get something with some poison.

Shame you don't have a poisoner alchemist or investigator though.

If your GM is being light on coin, you might consider taking Craft Wondrous Item to cut your gold costs in half.
