I thought we can turn or stop Velocity cart remotely...
ut wif we can just shoot from ally's weapon - than we have low chances to stop Velocity.
Anyway we need to be sure to come second.
| therealthom |
You had the opportunity to play your allies, but nobody was interested in playing Velocity or Lemgem. I've been running both of them to help you, and they have consistently fired on the leader, and they've both slowed down to wait for you to catch up. Ironically, if they hadn't slowed down, the race would have been over last round.
Since the party fired on Velocity, I believe you've now broken that alliance. I suppose a diplomacy check might get the alliance back. Idir had a pretty good idea with 'plausible deniability'. That could make a very good pitch. I'll set the DC to 2 higher than the original diplomacy check to make him an ally.
And TG is right. You need to come in second, if possible.
Nic nack, like I said in the game thread, it was a bold try. Unfortunately, mechanical failure of the engine is not a skill check. Besides you might still want that reroll if you fail your pilot check this round.
2. Whether or not you you win the alliance, fire Kuozar's projectile weapon at Ratord and ask Lemgem to do the same, otherwise she'll fire on the leader, Velocity.
3. Use your energy weapons to fend off Orsis, or Nyizin.

That's kind of what I did with my post, and I'm sure SD DM would allow it.Sorry I was out for a couple days and missed the end of the race, I had some "nice" words for Ratrod, but I'll go ahead and just move on
That is a beautiful thing about PbP: you can easily retcon that kind of character-personality enhancing post as long as it doesn't radically change established history. So an added exchange of words with Ratrod would be excellent. Retroactively knifing Ratrod on the track, not so much.

Yes, please don't do that. He needs to survive for his cameo in Fly Free or Die book 5.

I think Tenry dropped us. He hasn't posted since the first encounter.
Guys, I am taking a little vacation this weekend in upstate Vermont where my cell phone doesn't work and there's no internet access. I'll be out of touch Friday-Monday. Posting until then may be slow while I try to finish some stuff up at work prior to leaving. Will try to post as able until Friday.

If these kids turn out to be some tricksy monsters, I'm not going to be mad...I'll just be disappointed. :P
Pleasantly surprised and not mad, unlike Idir himself! :P

I think I know what Shelby is, but won't say it in-character so as not to metagame...Let's just say I don't think Shelby's alone...

Guys, I apologize for disappearing for a week. Work was sucking home life was busy, and I just couldn't get enthused to post. Part of it is my next news. Some things have come up and I'm going to be traveling for about three weeks starting Friday. I won't have internet the first week for sure. Posting schedule is likely to be shaky otherwise.
We are like one or two posts from finishing. I'll try to finish up by Thursday and get you your chronicles. I'd like to delay start of the next module until I get back in mod-September.

In general our game speed is less than comfortable for me. I am tryin to take it philosophically :)
I feel that life issues become more important, as you grow older.
So thats fine!
| therealthom |
I agree. I was hoping to move faster, and the slowness of our pace is mostly my fault.
For the next adventure I was thinking about trying #1-10. The Half-Alive Streets. It's more combat oriented, and I think will move faster than The Commencement did.
Any objections?
Idir of Herd Fernas

The pacing felt...a bit touch and go for me? I feel like in some places we moved forward a little quicker than I'd have liked, because I wanted to interact with the NPCs a bit more.
If we're taking votes on which module to do next, my preferences are whichever ones are most important to the Scoured Stars as a plotline. I joined this campaign for RP and story, after all!

None of the two scenarios above is related to this storyline (well, at least 1-10 for sure, I haven't read the other one). They just don't have that many tier 1-4 plot scenarios as far as I understand. So we will have to play a few "just interesting missions" to get to tier 3-6.
| therealthom |
Internet access! For today and tomorrow anyway.
The first mission story related scenario is 1-5, The First Mandate. It's a level 1-2. The problem is the next mission, 1-11 In Pursuit of the Scoured Past is minimum, level 3-5. So you need 6 missions under your belt before we can play that one. Commencement and Mandate are two. We're going to need four other missions to get you ready for Pursuit.
With that knowledge in ming let me know if you want to try Mandate next.
I am game to run Mandate next, if you like. I was thinking that it would be nice for you to do it as 2nd level PCs so that you can really crush it.
I really like what you did with RP posting to close out the Commencement, especially the child care commentary. Fitch does seem like a terrible parent, but maybe ysoki are so prolific that they need a very hands-off child-rearing philosophy in order to prevent oer population.
My first priority will be getting you your chronicles, but I can monitor this thread for a day.
| therealthom |
And I can't seem to find information for chronicles for
Nic nack, Xikko, and Kuozar.
I'm going to need all the usual information:
Player Name:
Character Name:
Organized Play Number:
Your Faction:
Also, if you have a profession skill, please roll your day jobs so I can add that to your cash.
Idir of Herd Fernas

Yeah, from what I know of ysoki family structures, Fitch's behavior's fairly mundane, but it chafes with Idir's very dromadan sensibilities, pushing him past his normal timidity into loud protestations...don't expect it to go much further than that, though, Idir hates confrontation. :P
Player Name: Archpaladin Zousha
Character Name: Idir of Herd Fernas
Organized Play Number: 49335-703
Your Faction: Second Seekers (Luwazi Elsebo)
Profession (Administrative Assistant): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
| therealthom |
Thanks for your patience, guys. Please check the chronicles for errors. I sometimes mess up the simplest things.
Please also check that credit for the adventure showed up on your organized play page.

No one added commentary on our next adventure, so I will go with the last, most popularly expressed sentiment, and we will play The Mandate since it is the kickoff to the story line.
I hope to make the first adventure post on Wednesday, probably PM in US east coast time.
Does anyone have an objection to playing Kuozar's suggestion, The Duskmire Accord, after that?
Idir of Herd Fernas
|
I'll admit to poking around StarfinderWiki's list of them to see what plotlines are in this one. If we want to do Duskmire Accord 9, I'd recommend playing its preceding scenarios, Claim to Salvation and Live Exploration EXTREME! first.
Thundergun
|
I am happy with any of these scenarios, but I think I have played Duskmire Accord. It's awkward and funny.
I can repeat if every body fine with this... But honestly I am interested more in Live Exploration Extreme, because heard about Zo a lot.
| therealthom |
Hey, guys! I'm back.
Claim to Salvation tells the story of the Society's first expedition to the mysterious moon. It is a fourth level adventure designed to be run with pre-gens. So we could run it now, and bank the chronicle until you reach 4th level, at which point we could apply it to your characters.
With or without Claim to Salvation , Live Exploration Extreme! and Duskmire will get you to second level. Clone Batch Catastrophe is a season 2 low level scenario set on Salvation's End too. I thought it was ridiculous fun. If TG has played Duskmire, we could substitute CLone Batch.
So should I queue up Claim (4th level) , Live Exploration, or The First Mandate ?
Thundergun
|
I played Clone Batch Catastrophe. This is funny, but may be painfully long probably in PbP.
I am good with Claim (4th level) , Live Exploration, or The First Mandate inthe schedule.
Thundergun

Claim for Salvation is for pregenerated characters, right?
Thats fine. WE are obviously not in a hurry.
Also, I believe someone of you may participate in upcoming Gencon...
| therealthom |
You can find the pre-gen characters here!
This may actually work out pretty well. Because of the way the adventures are ordered, it would be very convenient to use pre-gens for the fourth adventure. This will give you a chance to test-drive them on a side quest.
