The show must go on 7 tricks?

It says in the path that they need to do 7 tricks but show only 6 trick/npcs listed. Do they want us to make up a trick or have a PC ready with one or am I just missing it?

Also, did you show people the nice cards they made that also have all the DC checks and stuff on them?

Thanks for the help.

It is expected that one of the PCs will be a performer with a trick ready to go.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

PCs can be performers, and as Kasoh mentions, it is expected that at least one of the PCs will be a performer. The game I'm in, which is 5 players, 4 of us are performers.

As for the cards, my Gm did show them to us with the DCs and everything.

Radiant Oath

I showed the PCs the cards to help them with coming up with a trick of their own. However, I still have zero PC performers. They are all backstage staff. I'm not sure if I should modify the scenario to accommodate this, or if they just fail the first performance.

It might be more interesting for them to realize they don't have enough to performers to put on the show and see how they handle that. Narratively, there's a lot of fun to be had in a last second scramble to put together an act (people rushing to find a costume and props, people wondering just what they are actually capable of, etc.)

How that might play out at the table could vary. Some folks might enjoy that upset, others might see it as railroading.

You've captured my thought process. It's a new group, so I don't know which way they will go.

Part of the problem is that as I see it, this had to have been a problem that was already solved. The game provides 6 NPC acts, and that's all the Circus of Wayward Wonders has to start with unless the PCs come up with something. The Ringmaster wouldn't have queued a show without filling all the acts, right?

Of course, PCs can really hurt themselves by doing the responsible thing and not letting the Feather Fall Five perform without their safety equipment, putting them down another show.

If none of the PCs want/can perform a trick during the show, maybe have The Professor go out to try to entertain with a magic illusion show or something, but his age and technique has not caught up with the time so he doesn't do well and afterwards someone mentions that they need to recruit more acts if they want to have a successful show.

There are celestial menagerie performers on the island. They could be recruited, temporarily, for an emergency single performance. I'm sure no acts of sabotage will occur.

It's really odd that the group that wanted to play in the "circus ap" didn't make a single performer PC.
Maybe you should talk to them and ask if they want to make the circus part a simple background scenery or what. It's really simples, and after the 3rd book the circus take almost no part in the story.

Well, the people from the Celestial Menagerie(CM) is supose to be the worst people ever. The Wayward Wonders decided to flee from the CM because they mistreat them.

Some of the CM people are OK, but controlled by Mdm Dusklight. As the PCs used to be CM, they will know who they can trust.
