Cost of buying spells known to start the game with for my wizard

Rules Questions

So have 16000 gold and no magic items I'm allowed to buy. So I'm going to see about buying some.extra.spells known

I have up to 3rd.level.known and would.like too buy some of each level.known

The minimum cost to get these spells will be 10*[spell level]^2 to actually write it in your book. Beyond that, talk to your GM about what you could reasonably have access to and the cost for any access.

Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

Don't forget the following notation as well:

Quote:
In most cases, wizards charge a fee for the privilege of copying spells from their spellbooks. This fee is usually equal to half the cost to write the spell into a spellbook (see Writing a New Spell into a Spellbook). Rare and unique spells might cost significantly more.

All of the above is reasonable, but if your GM isn't reasonable you can buy scrolls as a fallback. It still doesn't cost much as a fraction of your starting gold.

This most likely what I'll do.

Also I know at the end of the day it's up to my GM but is it normal to say that a character has crafted some scrolls to begin the game with but using some of the starting gold to do So?

That is also by RAW "ask your GM territory", a nice GM might let you craft all your scrolls at half cost, another might say none can.

Personally, I would argue that you have the feat so you are getting nothing out of it by not being able to use it during character creation, and if your character had played up until the point that they are at, most if not all of those scrolls would be scrolls he crafted himself, and therefore would only take away half their value from his previous quest rewards. But again, YMMV.

I'd follow the guidelines, no more than a 25% increase to the wealth of a character from a crafting feat compared to a character without such a feat.

So from a starting 16k, I'd allow your character to craft scrolls so your total wealth doesn't exceed 20k.
- this is a lot of scrolls^^ -

Scrolls don't count as magic items? What about wands?

They are both 100% magic items.

I thought so... but the thread started with "no magic items allowed" and some proposed to buy scrolls.
