Which would you say is the better cleric archtype for a flame blade build?

And just to make it fair lets assume you can only use summon monster to summon one monster at a time, none of that mini army nonsense.

Theologian is better for applying metamagic, and presumably if you want to use flame blade extensively you're applying metamagic. THis requires the lightning subdomain to get flame blade on the domain spell list.

Alternately you could go with the flame blade dervish feat (outside PFS) which more or less requires worship of Sarenrae I think which in turn means no lightning subdomain unless you go with the separatist archetype (incompatible with theologian).

Yeah i was kinda going under the assumption of worshiping sarenrae, largely because she's like the easiest god to worship. She's basically religious auto pilot.

Per Inner Sea Gods, Clerics of Serenrae can prepare Flame Blade as a 3rd level spell, so no particular domains required. I suppose if you were wanting to spontaneously apply metamagic via domains that is a little different. Preferred Spell does exist though.

There is a similar spell Gozreh's Trident. It's even on the base Cleric list. Same stats, just electricity... and then opens up questions about whether swashbucklers get precise strike with it, but that's a different thread (is it the base weapon that needs to be piercing or the actual damage the weapon deals).

A bit outside of your original question, but have you considered the druid archetype made specifically for flame blade?
