I had an idea for a caster character modeled after the Riftwardens of 1E Pathfinder, going around doing things like banishing evil outsiders and ensuring extraplanar integrity, and I'm trying to figure out which class would be the best equipped to actually DO that.
Technomancers could play off the blending of planar magic and tech that you see in things like Drift engines, but from what I'm seeing, they have very few spells that actually open or close planar breaches.
Witchwarper almost seems an antithesis, yanking terrain from other universes that's inherently unstable and ephemeral, which seems like the opposite of preserving planar integrity.
And none of the various Mystic Connections seem to click with the concept I have in mind. I wanna play a mage with a cool staff whose head is shaped like an anchor and call it my "Drift Anchor" or something and make hammy declarations like "I'm banishing you back to your own dimension! You may even survive the trip and if you do, tell your kind they are not welcome here! This plane is protected! I! AM <CHARACTERNAME>! AND I NAME YOU <FIENDTRUENAME>!" but have no idea what chassis to build such a character out of. What do you folks think?

Technomancer and mystic both have the handful of spells that do this...
If you don't like technomancer you could consider the geneturge mystic connection? You're connected to biology of the natural world and you dedicate your spells to kicking out the things from beyond that keep screwing up biology.

What spells am I looking for in specific? I imagine they'll have to do the heavy lifting of this concept as no class seems to have class features in the same ballpark.

Mystics or Technomancers are good picks for Riftwardens (but honestly any other class can represent the Riftwardens).
Riftwarden would probably be a themeless background with a focus on mysticism as their bonus skill, or Paranormal Investigators theme.
I would recommend using the Akashic lore from SF to help support your Riftwarden spellcaster (drawing upon the wisdom and guidance of elder Riftwardens). So spells that deal with the Akashic are ideal. Look at spells that Riftwardens had in 1e and that should kinda give you an idea on what type of spells they might have in SF. The spells mentioned earlier in the forum are also idea.
Also don't just be dependent on spells. In SF, there are weapon fusions like Anchoring, Spellthrower, Dispelling, Bane, Ghostkiller, Dimensional Disruptive, etc. that can help support a Riftwarden character (who doesn't need to be a spellcaster).
Riftwardens in SF are more or a less a watchdog organization, and probably anti-Drift lobbyists in politics. Their classical enemies, the Blackfire Adepts, are likewise a terror organization made up of Witchwarpers and their associates.

Yeah, Planar magic just aint what it used to be.
I think it'd be more accurate to say "they haven't published a lot of planar spells yet, having not published information about the planes". After all, it does no good to write up a bunch of spells that screw with planar travel until you've detailed enough information to make planar travel meaningful, on a non-improvised level.
