With Time Beacon could I:

1st action: Time Beacon
Second and third action: Searing Light (if it fails to land I use a Hero Point and let's say I miss again)

Can I go back in time and attempt the same thing getting the Hero Point back?

i don't see why not.

Although personally, even if RAW is only for harmful effects, i would rule that Hero points are such a strong effect that you may possibly have to try to counteract yourself in order to get those back, but that would be just a houserule.

Hmm. Tough question, as Time Beacon doesn't make reference to things to like expending resources such as ammo or spell slots.

I assume the intent of "removing all effects of your turn since then" is that you would get in-game expandables back. An arrow you never fired is still in your quiver, etc.

Hero points are different in my mind. They are a form of meta-currency which is above the level of base gameplay. For example, it is the player who decides to spend a hero point, not the character. In this vein I would say "no".

That said, after reading through the rules on Hero Points and Time Beacon, I don't see any specific exception either.

So I'm leaning on no, due to the nature of hero points, but its certainly not a hard no.

Hero Points are one of the few things to reference a "session". You could also accomplish the same thing by using Time Beacon and ending the session immediately after rewinding to the start of the turn. That's sufficiently removed from anything in-game that I would say Time Beacon probably shouldn't touch hero points.

But, if you want a rules-lawyery take, the Hero Point rules do say it's your character using the point, so I think it's pretty reasonable for any "as written" table to allow it.
