Claws

Rules Discussion

I'm been thinking about Lizardfolk claws and Catfolk claws. Are these arms or feet or both?

The question being, could it leave your arms free?

I think they are supposed to be in your hands. Using feet claws would ask you to be prone...

It is possible to kick without falling over

I guess they are on both ends but claws on the hands/forepaws are traditionally easier to use then the others, no matter if biped or quadruped

Yes, clearly. But kicking is not like using claws. You can strike in any direction while kicking, when claws have to be used in one direction only.
Also, if you have boots...

In my opinion, it's not intended to be used for feet.

Tengu have Talons. Normally bird talons are feet. But Tengu art is all over the place. The official rules description puts talons on both hands and feet. So for Tengu it is clear.

Claws are mentioned only on hands for Catfolk, but its hardly perscriptive. Lizardfolk say nothing

I hesitate to ask "why normally?"

Because out here in meatspace that statement is always true (and anthro birds are all over the place before we event get to tengu).
