In an attempt to do a better job of slotting my boons I thought it would be a good idea to print them out on trading card sized cards and then keep them in a 9-pocket trading card page. I GM some games and I thought my players might appreciate getting boon cards along with their chronicle sheet. My first draft was built using google sheets and attempts to emulate the style of stat blocks from the core rule book while still being easy to share and modify as more boons are released. See the links below for the early results of that process.
But then I stumbled across the card templates for the Adventure Card Game in the community use resources. So I figured out the basics of how to use Inkscape and made this:
Envoys' Alliance Boon Cards (ACG Style)
It takes a lot more work making them in the ACG style, but I think they are way cooler. At this point I'd like to get some feedback from the community and once I settle on a style I'll start uploading the completed boons and templates to pfsprep
So, please let me know what you think. Would you appreciate receiving these as a player? As a DM would you bother downloading, printing, cutting, and handing them out? Should the text be as literal as space allows or be paraphrased for brevity? Anything else?

Great work on these! I like the ACG style cards myself. They "snap" when you open that page up. I would not paraphrase any of the text. Paraphrased text will quickly result in argumentation over the meaning of the words on the cards versus in the guide.
These would also work well for boons from the chronicle sheets too.
Again, these are great!

My original idea was that they would be for chronicle boons. But then realized they would be useful for faction boons and that avoids the issue of putting spoilers on the forum.
I envision these being used as a tool to organize and serve as a quick reference for rules elements that are useful at the table while keeping font sizes in a reasonable range.
They should not ever be considered as definitive rules references nor should possession of these count for anything. Players should still have all of their chronicles or whatever resource gave them access to that boon.

Adding the prerequisites to the cards for the factions would be pretty easy and I can see the value in it if you are looking at that whole sheet of cards like it's a shopping list for you character. But generalizing that to other boons would get unwieldy. Additionally, I see this as a way to build a "deck" of cards which you draw from to build your "hand" of slotted boons. So, all of the cards in your deck should only be ones that you've earned or purchased having already met the prereqs. In which case the prereqs are just taking up valuable space.
That being said, I could sneak the faction abbreviation plus tier in for the factions by pretending it's a trait and adding it at the top.

Yep, they're nice! Agree that any text on them should be a direct quote, not paraphrased (though of course the full text may not necessarily fit).
I could see printing and using them (as a player). As a GM, I'd be leery of setting a precedent which may cause your players to start expecting cool 'gifts' along with their chronicles... your fellow GMs in the area may not appreciate that escalation of social pressure.

Looks great!
I do the same thing for Starfinder (although nowhere near as graphically appealing). I paraphrase my text because the cards are just proxies and if there's ever a question, you can flip to the Chronicle that contains the actual text.
I line up the title/text/type on all of mine equally. On a single sheet I find the uniformity pleasing. But yours are prettier so it might work fine.
Thank you for your time! I know it's grueling and tedious. I never got around to doing the full Starfinder Guide and now I just make the cards for my characters mostly.

I figured this was a solved problem for starfinder, but since I'm not playing it yet, I didn't search the forums too deeply. I'm glad to see other people have had similar ideas and might actually use anything I produce. Since Kevin has the faction boons covered for now, I'll focus my initial efforts on making scenario boons.
Now the question is where do I put them? Share them from my google drive like Nefreet has done or post them to pfsprep, or both? Where is the best place to post this sort of resource for players who aren't GMs?
Maybe I'll shorten a url and put it on the cards so people know where to get more once they get one.

RealAlchemy wrote:I really liked the cards I saw last week which detailed the bonuses for level bump and for the faction mentor boons so players would remember to apply them.Where did you see these? These are really needed as it is hard for a player to remember all the bonuses they have.
One of the regular GMs at the venue I usually play at printed a bunch of cards for commonly applied modifiers.

Boon cards for scenarios #1-00 through #1-13 and quests 1-7 are complete. You can find them here:
I will also upload them to pfsprep.com in their respective forums.
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback. I welcome more.

Would be nice to have the requirements for the various faction boons, maybe down with the source even if it's just (VS 1) or somesuch.
Yeah I agree with this. It could be an optional part of the template - have a line for requirements that usually only gets used for faction boons, have another line to write in what scenario the boon came from for boons earned during scenarios.
Kind of how feats have a lot of optional sections in their body.

FYI, while admittedly helpful, this does make Chronicle fishing easier/more tempting.
True, but there are other ways already available to get the same information and, in general, it is not hard to cheat in PFS if you want to. Society play is entirely dependent on the honor system.
The hard part is balancing my own desire to make boons available for others with not spoiling the boons I haven't gotten to play or GM yet.
