A brave group of dwarves. A dwarven prince seeking to return to his ancestral throne. A Dark Path full of strange peril and strange friends.
My friends and I have a long running campaign based on Throne of Night. Due to real life issues, however, the player attached to our dwarven prince needs some time and space. We would love to continue the campaign, but it is hard to run a group trying to put a prince back on the throne if they have lost their prince.
What we need is someone to step into the role of Snorri Tharnhammer. We are 5th level, 25 point buy with some special rules. Currently, Snorri is a Paladin of Torag, which is a nice fit, but we would be open to a rebuild, preferably still something martial.
Obviously, we don't expect a personality clone of the character, just someone willing to play a forthright dwarf with a strong spirit who is a strong leader.
I'm sure the rest of the players will chime in.

Oh man dwarves are my favorite. So what you're saying is we just have to take the character over, correct? No creating a whole new pc? I've taken over a couple of pc's back in the day.
Looking over him, is he a bard? It just looks like Paladin but I see 'Raging song' so I was just wondering.
Edit: Never mind the last question. I'm guessing you've got a skald in your party. Didn't even think about that initially.

GM SuperTumbler |

Yes. Raging Song is from the party Skald.
And yes, we are hoping for someone to take over the character so that we have continuity with the plot. Obviously, you would play the character as your own. I'm not going to nitpick you with "Snorri would never do that."
Snorri is sort of the best possible version of a dwarf, has the best qualities of dwarfiness. Some other players have taken on some of the worser characteristics. The whole campaign has delved deep into dwarven identity, so it is fun to play with.

Glenda Dalduraz |

I play the party's cleric, a priestess of Magrim, dwarven god of death. I serve as a supporter and healer for Snorri.
Snorri is a forthright and honest dwarf, one who has a strong personality, isn't afraid to speak his mind, and always tries to compose himself in conduct with the highest ideals of dwarfhood - combining his peerless martial skill and his unshakeable will with a merciful heart and a love of the tradition, history, and culture of the dwarven people. Glenda's role is to assist him in religious matters and matters of conscience.

Javell DeLeon |

Oh man that sounds awesome! Plus he's a paladin. A favorite class of mine. And I love the whole team concept thing you got going. THAT'S what makes a game truly fun. When you've got that cohesion going. That's just greatness.
Well with that being said, unless y'all have somebody else in mind I'd love to take over. Or if y'all feel you should wait to see who else pops up then that's cool too. Sounds like a ton of fun.

I'm excited by your enthusiasm, but I don't want to be too hasty. Take look through the thread. Look at the relationships, see if you still feel good about it.
I am the second GM for this group, and I've always felt like it belongs to them and not to me, so I'll get their input, but it sounds like you will be a fervent fit.
I thought this was a shot in the dark, so to get a positive response so quickly is heartening.

Absolutely! Totally understand that. Been there and done that myself.
Dwarves are flat out the best. I'm currently in 6 games and three of them consist of dwarves. :)
And paladins are right at the top of my favorite classes. Between them barbarians and fighters. (Yeah I'm a martial guy at heart). :) They're just the ultimate good guy. Fun stuff.
Yeah will definitely run through the gameplay thread and check it out. I'll do that over the next two days you're gonna leave this open. That'll give me some time. Currently I've been checking out some of his posts to see what his character is like.
Got to call it a night but I'll be keeping an eye out. :)

Dasur Deepborn |

Hi, I'm the party's eccentric genius of a earth elemental wizard that is obsessed with jewels, fractals, and mathmatically predicting the future using defraction patterns in gemstones. He's a little crazy, displays classic dwarven greed when it comes to precious stones, and is a little out of touch with reality, but his battlefield control is second to none!
He is Snorri's cousin and technically 2nd in line to the throne, but has no interest in ruling. Dasur is also the only friend of the party's "captive" Drow that has more or less joined us for his own benefit. This may be confusing because Dasur is currently dominated by what we suspect to be a vampire and is trying to kill the Drow as we speak.
Anyway. Snorri has been our guiding beacon of hope to reclaim Dammerhall. He is the epitome of what a dwarven prince should be, and as the GM said, all the good traits of a dwarf rolled into a holy shell.
We are totally willing to accept a mechanical rebuild of his character, and maybe some tweaking of his personality, but know that the in character responsibility of leadership will fall suarely on the shoulders of the person taking him over. While we kind of "vote" out of character for decisions, in character what Snorri says is often law to our group.

Torvi Stonesinger |

I am the party's Skald. Warrior maiden, skeptic, and elf-hater. I probably represent some of the baser qualities of dwarves, but I'm dwarven through and through!
Snorri has, on several occasions, ordered me to stand down my race baiting and elf-hatred. I'd hope that the new Snorri would be similarly principled and willing to keep me in my place. At least until it's time to off that damn drow!!!

A Temp. Agent |

Ah, a bit too late then. It seems as though the best fit and certainly the most enthusiastic replacement has already made his debut for taking over as your Dwarven prince.
While I would be willing to throw my hat into the ring, so to speak, and having been one to perform, shall we say, character assimilation in the past, I dare say I'd have been a decent choice. I am not however, heavily inclined towards Paladins nor Dwarves any more than any other class or race. So, with that, good luck Javell DeLeon and have a good time everyone.

That is an important point. Out of character, players consult on decisions. You don’t need to take on the decision making for the whole group.
This is perfect. Totally a fan of group decision making. And that's whether I would be the "leader" or not.

Lol! This whole drow business is interesting. Gonna have to find out how all that came about. Trips me out to be honest with you. I'm totally having a hard time picturing that one. Talk about your odd grouping.
Patron 1: "A drow and five dwarves walk into a bar..."
Patron 2: "HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Good one!"
Patron 1: "Wait! I haven't even told the joke yet."
Patron 2: "Yes you have." :)
And lot's of good insight from you all. Good stuff.

Erebos (Not his real name) was the Lieutenant of a band of black orcs who were holding a valuable intersection. The party managed to kill the orcs without killing th drow. He surrendered. At the time he had some useful intel, and he had no particular love for his superiors. He has fought for the party a few times. They have a deep gnome guide who knew the terrain above, but Erebos knows the geopolitical landscape better.
So far it has been in his best interest to help the group. He has no hope of welcome at home, so where else is he going to go. He is evil (and proud considering he is basically a POW), but he isn’t stupid. Plus he gives Dasur someone to talk to about esoterica.
Javell DeLeon, it looks like fortune favors is all. Go ahead and head over to the discussion thread.

"Let's not forget he was involved in killing the refugees from Dammerhall! He was not just complicit! He actively killed dwarves during the fall of our homeland!"
