Combining Swashbuckler with Staff Acrobat?

Advice

I realize that Swashbuckler is still in the playtest phase yet, and everything can change, but the way things stand, it really seems that Gymnast Swashbuckler should sinergize well with Staff Acrobat - fluff-wise, at least - and it would be something I'd love to play in Extinction Curse... except fot their respective weapon requirements.

So far, as far as I can tell, the only weapon that satisfies both "agile or finesse" and "staff, spear or polearm" is Filcher's Fork, which... doesn't really feata every character flavor.

So... any chance that will be addressed? In the APG, perhaps - with either new weapons, or even a feat that allows one to finesse some staff-like weapons, Bladed Brush-style?

There's a chance and the staff fighter is certainly a really flavorful concept.

But I wouldn't hold your breath on it either. PF2 has so far been fairly conservative about options that fundamentally change how you use a weapon.

That said the staff is a pretty horrible weapon so some feats to make it more interesting to fight with would be cool.

What's a Staff Acrobat? I can't seem to find it in my books or on Archives of Nethys.

It's a new archetype from the AP that got released today, The Show Must Go On

Ooh, thanks! I've been too busy reading Gods and Magic to get that one yet. :)

Your GM is the one that matters, but you have my blessing to homebrew a 1st level swashbuckler feat that gives a staff (the simple weapon staff) the finesse trait when you wield it in one hand.

This is the kind of comment you can print out and keep handy for emergencies.
