Will we ever see new Ancestries in an AP volume?

Given the amount of space they take? Highly unlikely.

An NPC ancestry can be done credibly in six pages. One page as a full page illustration. Facing page as a place to drop in flavor text and lore. And then over the next four pages, information on the ancestry itself. This is sort of the format we use in the upcoming Character Guide for leshies, lizardfolk, and hobgoblins.

An ancestry can absolutely appear in an AP volume or an adventure, and I think that's a great idea for a backmatter article...

...but only for volume 1 of an Adventure Path, because once the thing is up and running, having new ancestries related to that campaign is less useful because, in theory, you've all already created your ancestry.

Introducing a new, load-bearing ancestry in an Adventure Path player's guide might make more sense.

And certainly a whole book of them would be fun.

BUT. We can do the bare-bones GetStarted info in 6 pages with ease.
