I agree that thread necroing is annoying, but that doesn't do anything to resolve the issue actually being discussed, which is that Magic Fang gives an Item Bonus, and Animal Companions explicitly cannot benefit from Item Bonuses to Attack.
Targeting was never the issue.
Thread necroing is useful. This forum is not just for the people who discuss day to day. It is a resource for all players, who need to search up a difficult rule and work out what it means.
Magic Fang is of very little value. I have a moral objection to parts of the game that are a waste of space. I expect that features of the game should be fit for purpose. This is not.
For sure I can house rule it, but Paizo needs to find the time to go back and address some of these issues.

I'm going to add that line that this spell works on animal companions and be done with it for now. Glad they made it 1 willing target. Animal companions are notoriously weak right now. My ranger player gave up on animal companions because they keep dying without doing much more than a tiny bit of damage.

Maximized AC and Att by investing in dex is actually pretty good. Take a dex critter (bird/snake) and add nimble and ambusher for more dex and you end up with a very good AC and not to bad Att. Druid can take more specialization, wonder if taking both dex skills is allowed.
