Druid True Shapeshifter forms Question

Rules Discussion

Hey there just got the book and have verb trying to learn the classes. With wildshape and most feats, when you get a new form it tells you to check a specific spell for details.

True shapeshifter however, says you can turn into a kaiju or a green man but I don't see where you check for the stats and bonuses such give you. Any help would be appreciated.

Nature Incarnate, Core Rule book, p. 354.

It should be noted that you can also cast this as a 10th level primal spell. So unless you want the Wild shape flexibility part of the feat, you're probably better off getting the feat taht grants another 10th level slot.

Aren't your bonuses as a wild shape druid also higher if you take the feat, though?

No idea. The feat only says you can use it once per day. It doesn't even specify that this is a use of wildshape.

It might be, with all implications (like costing a focus point and potentially gaining the +2 attack bonus) but as written it's not exactly clear.

Thanks, re reading it I was just imprinting old ideas onto new. Was thinking nature incarnate was nature's avatar buff so I thought it was just saying you became a kaijyu with a buff. New systems x.x

I agree that after looking at true shapeshifter the 2nd spell slot is probably better. I don't believe a druid can get a higher attack bonus than the spell for wild shape to be worth it and I'm not sure the flexibility added to wild shape would be worth the flexibility for a second 10 level spell slot.

Sorry I forgot to add the expert prof when I was doing my math. At level 20 a druid with a 22 str and +3 handwraps can have a +35 to hit. This would give a Wild Shape druid a higher attack bonus than the spell by 1.

Polymorph spells don't allow you to benefit from item bonuses, so count out those handwraps :(

The form spells allows you to use your unshaped unarmed attack bonus if it's higher that that granted by the spell. You can't get the item bonus to the shape's attack but you can get it to your regular unarmed strikes and use their attack bonus (including the item bonus) instead.
