Alchemist Questions.
Howdy. So I’m just making this thread for random questions I’ve thought of, or I've seen asked within other threads on here and reddit (both reddit forums for pathfinder/pathfinder 2)
1) This one I’ve seen in 3 posts on Reddit. I don’t think so, but thought I’d throw it up here.
Perpetual Infusion: “ You gain the ability to create two 1st-level alchemical items using Quick Alchemy without spending a batch of infused reagents. The items you can select depend on your research field and must be in your formula book. “ They stated that the wording on this makes it so at lv 7 when you get this, you make 2 per action.
I’m rather certain its worded to just limit you to 2 items (that you choose from the research field). But they said that Research Fields specifically list “choose 2”-meaning there was no need for PerInfu to specify “create two” instead of “create an alchemical item” (since the following sentence lists what you can select depends on research fields).
I would kind of love if this was how it worked but I doubt that. (would like it because of the next question)
2) Perpetual Infusion Quick Alchemy, and Double Brew. Double Brew “When using the Quick Alchemy action, instead of spending one batch of infused reagents to create a single item, you can spend up to two batches of infused reagents to make up to two alchemical items as described in that action “ specifies that instead of 1 batch, you can pay for two and make both. Perpetual Infusions state “You gain the ability to create two 1st-level alchemical items using Quick Alchemy without spending a batch of infused reagents. “ Specifies without spending any batch.
Can you use Double Brew with Perpetual Infusion, to create 2 perpetual items? You are not spending any batches, so “instead of 1” seems to mean you can not.
I would love if you could though. *and I think it was originally meant to*
3)Perpetual Infusion and Alchemist xbow https://2e.aonprd.com/Equipment.aspx?ID=473. “As an action, you can load a single lesser alchemical bomb into the bracket; …..If the second and third attacks are not all made within 1 minute of the first attack, the bomb’s energy is wasted. “ How does this work with Perpetual bombs? I can not tell if this item keeps the bomb attached and supplies. Or if it empties the bomb into the xbow. It specifies “bomb’s energy” rather than the “bomb goes inert” So it seems like once you load the bomb and it transfers the energy.
If you loaded this with an perpetual bomb, would it fizz out at the end of your round? Or would the bomb disappear but the damage boost remain?
(I assume it would fizz and disappear at the end of your round as per normal and offer no benefit. And it would only be worth while if you had the long lasting perpetual feat).
4) Weapon Specialization and Bombs.
So, Weapon Spec says you deal extra damage with weapons you are an expert in. So when you use this with a bomb. Does it apply only to the main damage? Or does it apply to the splash damage? Or both? Both effects are listed as damage. They both are seemingly separate instances from the same damage roll.
So how about Alch Fire. It does 1d8 damage and 1 splash. Do you add Weapon Spec to the damage, or the splash, or both?
How about Acid Flask No damage, 1 splash. Do you add weapon spec to the splash?
I assume in both cases it has no interaction with persistant damage, since you’re not actively causing that. (this also applies to sticky bomb’s persistent damage. No bonus)
Thank you for time and thoughts.

1) it gives you a list of 2 items. not 2 items per action.
2)as RAW they do not combine:
You have a base ability that says: You spend one, you get one.
and 2 abilities that say:
You no longer spend one for items X and Y.
and
Instead of spending one you can spend up to two to make two.
If you don't spend at least one reagent, you don't qualify for the second ability.
3)This one is up to the GM since it's uncommon item from an adventure book, i don't expect clear cut rules. I'd personally say that "you use the bomb and it gives the property to the crossbow". So it doesn't expire similar to how, as an example, Persistent damage doesn't expire.
4)Base damage. Splash damage is from the splash trait, you would only modify it if something specifically calls that it's modifying it.
I THINK for acid flask it won't help at all. I think you cannot "add" damage if there isn't any base damage.
Similar to how you wouldn't add damage to, example, Charm person, via Dangerous sorcery (the "think" part is because that one is actually called out that it doesn't add the damage).
