Feat Equivalent Question

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Is there a melee equivalent to the feat Clustered Shot? http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/combat-feats/clustered-shots-combat

Something like all your attacks can strike the same spot to overcome damage reduction....

Nope. The closest I know of is Penetrating Strike, which isn't really that similar at all.

If this is for a home game, you could always homebrew a "Clustered Stabbing" or whatnot to fill the gap. It wouldn't break the game, just bring melee closer to ranged as a choice for high level.

vital strike is as close as you'll get with melee stacking to overcome DR

Scarab Sages

I believe Mort is correct here, the closest thing you get is Penetrating Strike and Greater Penetrating Strike.
The balance here of course, is that your melee characters are typically doing substantially more damage per hit than the archers are.

Nope, there's nothing like it. You can be a single class (fighter), twice the level necessary for clustered shots, and high level to ignore just 5 points of most DRs (but not DR -!). You can then spend a 2nd feat to ignore 10 points total, which is pretty nice I guess. It's at 16th level though :)

It'd be nice though, make all your attacks and combine the ones that hit into a single attack... powerful as hell though would need to be serious feat tree to get there.

Scarab Sages

If there were a melee version, I'd think it would be best included in the TWF feat tree, since they're the ones who actually need the love. THF already get all that extra damage from STR x1.5 and Power Attack x1.5.

^^^ You have a decent number of options, many not usable by archers, to get 5 extra damage per attack though, which works out to the same thing outside of dealing minimum damage.

Clustered Shots is there to overcome how archers get more attacks (from consistent full attacks and core feats that add arrows fired), but low damage per shot and normally get utterly hosed by DR. You don't really "need" it as a 2 handed weapon user who will only get one attack (very strong) attack on the first round till he can get pounce (If a Barbarian or Synthersist. Mobile Fighter can get a gimped version) and should kill his target anyways on the second round.
