Carrion Crown Tie ins?

Strange Aeons

So I am about to run Carrion Crown for a group of friends. One of these friends is about to run Strange Aeons as well. The only people in both groups are the two of us GMs.

I was wondering if there are any tie in characters or whatnot as they both take place in Ustalav.

Only the first two books take place in Ustalav. The second book takes place mainly in Thrushmoor, which is featured in Carrion Crown book 4. But it's mainly the location, not so much npcs or other story beats AFAIK.

Are there NPCs that could be tied together?

Carrion Crown has lots of memorable NPCs which could reasonably appear in the first 3 books of Strange Aeons.

I ran Carrion Crown way before Strange Aeons came out. When my players got to Thrushmoor in book 4, they got obsessed with the Star Stelae. I had to make up an explanation, but without spoilers, it turns out the Thrushmoor Star Stelae play a significant role in book 2 of Strange Aeons. So that could be an item of interest to coordinate on...

I'm not at all familiar with Carrion Crown, but if part of it takes place in Thrushmoor, then, depending on timing, the Carrion Crown group could have some interaction with Count Lowls, or even the Strange Aeons player characters prior to the start of the AP and gaining their fugue state.

Carrion Crown ran from February to July 2011, Strange Aeons August 2016 to February 2017. That a 5.5 years gap that we could transpose in universe and go from there. So what was Count Lowls up to, 5.5 years before Strange Aeons?

Based on the Thrushmoor Terror, that would have been just before he acquired the PCs (which was 5 years before the AP starts). So probably that would have been when Lowls got tired of being ridiculed in Ustalav's academic circles and started becoming obsessed with his occult research and the Star Stelae.

that would be fun. especially if the PCs can be the ones who push him to get more 'help'

That would be quite hilarious when the players realise their CC are, partially, responsible for their SA character's woe.

But even without that, that could he a great way to foreshadow Lowe's descent into madness, for example: witness book delivery, Strange people showing up at strange time, the count studying the Stelae, a passing comment, etc. Nothing too overt, but something that should click in SA in the player's brain.

As a player in a nearly finished CC game, the GM had it where the two were running about concurrently. So when we arrived in Thrushmoor, Lowls had already skipped town and the other party were in hot pursuit after him. We didn't spend much time there as I essentially bribed people to tell us where the Whispering Way went before leaving the next day.
