It's like a mix between SimCity, Pikmin, and Minecraft, all rendered in ASCII.
You start with a group of 7 dwarves dispatched to establish a fortress in a remote part of a randomly-generated world. You have to mine, build, brew, cook, fight, gather wealth, and generally find a way to survive, all while under threat of wild animals, goblin sieges, undead invasions, lycanthrope attacks, snooty elves getting pissed you're chopping down trees, and the horrors you may accidentally unearth as you burrow deeper and deeper into the stone below.

It will be shortly, as the makers are reaching the point where they need the extra money for IRL expenses, mostly medical.
The version I linked is free though and will remain so, they say.

Lots, but I was also thinking of one monkey in particular, Santa Monkey!

Cool I'll give it a shot. I just got "don't starve" so I've been playing that a lot lately.

Quick About me so people can get to know their host:
So I'm back from gall bladder surgery. Back at work (Hotel night auditor). I troll the forum's to stave off boredom.
I play pathfinder, I'm a jack of all trades at most Nerd culture. Their isn't much in that way I'm not a little familiar with.
I am really quite and cut off until I'm comfortable with my environment.
That's about the meat of it.

DungeonmasterCal |

Well, I'm disabled and no longer working, I'm 55 and I troll the forums for the same reason.
My group plays Pathfinder almost exclusively. We did play a mashup of Call of Cthulhu/Vampire: the Masquerade but the GM just lost interest in and we never finished the campaign. The same with a DC Heroes game he was all gung ho to start. Three sessions. Money I wasted on the rule book.
I love animals, paleontology, and archaeology. My turn-ons are...er..we'll stop here.

The call/vamp game interests me. Shame it didn't go anywhere. I ran a sucessful COC game once and by sucesful I mean everyone died or went insan. Was the DC hero's one from Green Ronin?
Last year I spent most of the year writing my own super hero RPG based on Starfinders rule set spent some time looking for a publisher and then I have taken a break on it as the publishers depressed me heavily. I plan to work on self-publishing when I feel up to working on it some more.

The DC Heroes game was actually called "Blood of Heroes". It's the DCH game from Mayfair Games. I forget which publisher bought the rights to it, though. It was a complete reproduction of the DCH 3rd edition rules. I wanted to get the DC stuff for Mutants and Masterminds but never did. And no one wanted to learn a new rule system, so it just gathers dust now.

DungeonmasterCal |

It's actually quite similar to the Mutants and Masterminds system, just older and uses 2d10 instead of a d20. The philosophy in my group now (we've been together over 30 years in a couple of the cases where they're concerned) is Pathfinder 1e is where we'll "retire" from gaming with, hopefully in a long time from now. They just refuse to learn a new system to break the monotony of PF (I am the only GM. It's hard to not burn out. And don't suggest asking one of them to run something. They flatly refuse to do so). TORG was redone and released a few months ago. Two of my guys bought the rules for "nostalgia's sake". We won't be playing that, either. Kinda grinds my gears because of their stance on new games. I even got the Numenara starter set as a gift recently. No interest.

My first DM quit playing about 25 years ago while in the Navy. He said he'd "told all the stories he felt was necessary". We used 1e when I first started playing in '85 and he refused to move on to 2e and despite my excitement over 3e and 3.5e he just wouldn't budge, saying if he ever played again it would be 1e.

We got swapped with our wild west counterparts in the first BH game. My character looked exactly like "Clem Whitaker, Scourge of the West". I had to roleplay an Anti-Paladin in boots and chaps, not knowing what the hell firearms were and trying to live up to Clem's reputation. It was an RP challenge, for sure. But I loved it.

My favorite and probably most out there one I've ran was a "sliders-esque" game. The first iteration ended up with a party consisting of a super soldier merc who ended up a lot like dead pool but less insane, A mutant cowboy, A samurai mech and pilot, A LG lich priest of Osiris, and a Half dragon barbarian. (that one was 3.5)
