Man who trashed this place while I was gone? Oh AC/DC... nice... as long as its not that train album.

Hello new (to this thread because I know all of you already) faces.

Howdy! (I'm from Arkansas and that word is still in common usage). How are things tonight?

Lol all fine. What's funny is I lived in Ohio for a few years and I had just took a trip to Texas and picked up a souvenir cowboy hat. People could not resist saying Howdy to me when I wore it. Also I somehow managed to get free food and little extra's from time to time because I guess people thought I was a tourist or something. One time all I said was I'm not sure what to order this is my first time here. Guy said Well here try this its on the house. Works for me. It had to be the hat.

Not sure how long I'll be around tonight. The Paizo forums are taking forever to refresh. It's annoying as all get out.

Welcome back Mort!

That is a big wall.

I'm no baker but I want to be. I need to try bread more often. I'm always so messy with flour it makes me hesitant.

If I lock an infinite amount of you in a room with infinite type writers will you eventually write a Christmas carol for me?

I've noticed that too.

There is a fly in my room right now. It must die, but I can't find my fly swatter. Madness takes its toll.

But listen closely... not for very much longer...I've got to keep control.

I just listened to the soundtrack the other day. Lots of Rocky Horror song references keep popping up, both from me and others.

For instance, I recently got to use a line from a song to describe the surgery on my knee. Someone asked how I was doing and I replied They "removed the cause, but not the symptom". I can probably die now because I've waited since 1980 to actually have a reason to say that and it be true.

Regarding the actual surgery, I went in to have a torn meniscus in my knee fixed. They repaired the damage but the pain hasn't gone away. The surgery was May 8th. It's often as bad as before the surgery. My orthopedist finally just said he was out of ideas and didn't know what else to do. Dang it.

Sounds like nerve damage. (in my amateur opinion). Your like House. I destroyed my left knee some time back it comes out of joint really easy now. I'll wake up in incredible pain sometimes and have to pop it back in to place then pass out from the pain then wake up feeling better. Good times... Knee are like the worst designed thing ever. If you neglect them they are more likely to get damaged however if you work them out they are also more likely to get damaged. There is no winning.

It's taken over a minute for the site to load this time. The lag is giving me lag. I'm going to turn in. But first, I'd like to sing one of my favorite songs. Goodnight!

Without You

Pfft. Gimme a case of Red Bull and I'll knock that out in an afternoon.

That is amazing that that was already a thing. Also did not know that about millions of santa's.

How do you think they spend their off-season?

One would have quite a bit of free time.

and we're back.

Hi! How's your evening?

Just starting really.

Starting a New game here soon. PF1 all characters start with 18 stats and psionic powers. Basically they are destined hero's The game will focus around 9 all powerful weapons (typically swords but they can take different forms.) Meant to remake the universe. so the 9 each sword being a different alignment. the 3 being LG CE and TN are the more powerful ones and TN being the most powerful. I plan to take this one to mythic 10 level 20. As long as nothing falls apart. Should be one of the most expansive games I've ever ran.

It sounds pretty epic. I took a game last year to level 20, but the Mythic Tiers stopped at 6 for them. Now they want every campaign to end up mythic. I have mixed feelings about that.

I've used mythic before. This time its going to be tied to the swords especially. The swords will grant the ranks basically.

The last time I used mythic is was pretty rough. I did the incremental options as they leveled up. The power spike made it pretty tricky to run for but I think I'm ready to give it another shot especially since I will be controlling what they get from mythic.

In all my 34 years of gaming neither I (the eternal GM) or my players had managed to finish a campaign all the way to 20th level. It was an exercise in patience and creativity to keep things interesting. Once they hit Tier 4 I began to feel I was over my head, but I managed to just get my nose above water long enough to finish the campaign out. I'm really hesitant to add Mythic stuff to one of my campaigns. I'm running two, and it's already at Tier 3. I will probably stop it there. But the other one is just a classic "wander the world seeking fortune and glory" like we used to do back in the old days. It would be ripe for Mythic storytelling, but I really, really don't want to add that to a third campaign.

The game I mentioned with all the weird characters the other day started at 10 and finished at 30 (3.5 D&D). It did get pretty crazy at the end the CR system really breaks down at epic levels. For example they had way more trouble out of a little random encounter epic wraith monster then they did the final boss an advanced great wrym red dragon. Still the game ended pretty epically. no way I would go past 30 however. I've also ran two other games from 1 to 20. one 3.5 one PF. Higher levels does get tricky and very rocket taggy. I tailor the game to the players so it makes it a bit easier. Like I'll know if I use such and such I'll likely wipe the whole party so I don't kind of thing.

WOOOO!!! YAY!! LET'S GO SPORTSTEAM *clap clap clapclapclap*

We can talk about sports here, right? After all, it's not FaWtL.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

You can if you wish. I will complain and dis sports teams quite a bit when mentioned however.

Oh please. What could you possibly have to say about the Bermuda State Syphilitic Conquistadors that isn't positive and inspiring?

............

Like I thought. Nothing.

Sports. Phooey!

I am in a lot of pain because of my knee and I've probably taken more of my prescription pain meds than I should have. I'll be fine where that's concerned, just woozy and sleepy. I'm going to eat a bowl of Frosted Flakes then turn out the light.

G'night, everyone!

When I was young I always thought If you flew backwards around the world you would go back in time because of time zones. It didn't help that that one superman movie reinforced that idea.

Didnt he fly so fast he reversed the rotation of eath, thereby turning back time?

People are always telling me things like this. They barely even make me dizzy, unless I take my daily doses too close together. I even had a lot of morphine given to me after I was taken to the ER after a car wreck and I stayed awake the whole time. But man, what a ride.
